Got the fixed inboard aileron extesions glued on.
Glued all the pin hinges in the ailerons. Installed the servos, and set up the linkage.

Installed the tail wheel steering wires. Still need to cut off some of the exess wire, and slip some heat shrink tube over the ends.

Installed the rudder servo, and servo horn.
Glued in the rudder control horn.

I might peel off the red stripes on the bottom of the wing......

Rudder pull pull installed.

everything bolted together.......cool that everything just lines up without having to tweak anything. They must use a good jig at the factory.

wings are retained with 4 bolts, 2 large ones up front, and 2 small ones in the trailing edge......don't really think the small ones are necessary....

With some stickers on, it will look ace

Included tank is 800cc

I bought a Chinese canister, and I regret it.
I usually buy KS stuff, but opted to try this out.......big mistake.
There is only one baffle inside the can, with large holes, so I dont expect it to muffle much more than the stock exhaust that is included with the engine.

But I will try it out anyway.
Im pretty sure that I will order a 4 chamber KS can with quality hardware later on.

Its a Aeroplus 50cc sbach, seems Hobbyking just picks up containers of surplus or old stock for peanuts (there is now a 60cc sbach) from manufacturers and passes the savings on

The cannisters actually are quite robust and sound more expensive than they are and will noticably be quieter than stock mufflers, the headers are crap. I did loose quite a few rpms though, a non convolute header may have helped that but never got round to finding out.

OK, ill try out the china canister.

But the header is way too wide, and wont fit in the cowl anyway.
So I have ordered some KS header bits that should fit inside the cowl.

Hey guys, I'm falling in love all over again here... my canister and ribbed header on my engine got better rpm than stock muffler. At the time it was the Turnigy HP-50 I installed first.
I like the tail wheel setup! Mine came just past the rudder hinge, then they had this thin torque rod for steering. It fell out twice and after that I let it be a caster.
I like your canister stinger opposed to the small breakable one on mine...

My last 2 stroke was a HP-50 too, and it was defective when I got it.
The crank case must have moved in the CNC machine, as the cylinder was leaning forward :-)

I did not bother send it back to HK, so I just used a file to flatten it, and gave it a think gasket to raise the cylinder.....it ran great. I really like the rotary valve, compared to the reed valve on this engine :-) http://www.modelflyvning.dk/forum/sh...ighlight=hp-50

I cut out the top of the engine torque box out. There was a laser engraving on it, so I just cut on teh lines, and glued in some corners for the screws.

Installed my throttle and choke servo.

I also installed a velocity stack on the carb......had a spare lying around....

Looking good! If possible add a cardboard bulkhead behind the throttle servo to keep the fuel form spraying into the fuselage. Also look into making a fuel pump diaphragm remote
from a film canister as posted in the thread. It will save your engine from quitting or leaning out.

yes, I will make a shield so the carb does not spit fuel into the fuselage.

Got my KS stuff today.
Decided to order a KS 4 chamber alu cansiter instead of trying out the 2 chamber stainless china canister.

My club is realy strickt on noise, so I have to think about the sound level.
One of the guys got grounded last weekend because a neighbor called the club forman about his plane....

I don't envy your club... we are so lucky that the farm is a long way out with neighbors 1 click apart. The farm owner wants the loudest planes to fly! The louder the better. :-)

Great, my solder friend got home from vacation, and I immediately put him to work, and put my exhaust system together :-)

No I can get on with the last few things before the maiden flight
