Lol. Thank you for the invite. Stephen just cannot say enough good things about you guys and I'm sure it would be great fun.. Lately I've not been doing well with my traveling. I made extensive plans for Nall, starting back last year, and cancelled a couple weeks ago. Next I made plans to attend SEFF, nope that didn't work either. The next event to plan for (and hopefully NOT cancel) is the Jam in Chattanooga. Time will tell. Are any of you guys gonna be in Chatt? WW was there last year.

OK, Last night Brian & I did a bit more to the WW. We glued in tri-stock where required, drilled the holes for hinges using the Robart tool, and final sanded the elevators with 100, 180 & 220 grit paper. Brian then cut Monocote strips & started the covering at the edges. See pics.

Results? One very pretty stab, and an elevator which is ready to cover on the next visit..

Thank you Stephen..
Guys? Question...
When we did a "dry-fit" of the stab/elevator combination earlier, it slid into the fuse fine. When we attempted this dry-fit after gluing on the tri-stock, the stab/elevator would not fit into the fuse. At this point, it's looking like we're going to have to open up the back end of the fuse to insert the stab/elevator and then add a doubler plate to close it back up. Did we get something out of sequence in the assembly?

Above is the dri-fit of the stab/elevators I was referring to.. The assembled parts slid in nicely until we glued the tri-stock on to the L.E of the elevator, and the T.E. of the stab, then it was a no-go..

Did you try sliding the elevator in first and then the stab? Normally that's the way you do the tail on this one. You slide the elevator in and let it sit in the cutout, then slide in the stab and insert the hinges. However, if you can't get it to fit, there's no problem cutting a slot in the rear fuse and making a plug to fille it back in after the tail is done.

We gave that a go, and it didn't seem to want to fit that way either. Brian didn't think it was any big-deal, or real problem to open up the back, so I'm not concerned about it. Maybe he'll comment when he checks in with us here..

Phil just snap off one of the helper tabs on the elevator then slide in and glue. Thats what we had to do on Rusty's and I had to do that on my 30cc WW.
