If anyone in the St. Louis Area is interested, the Greater St. Louis modelers association (GSLMA) at Buder Park in Valley park, Mo. Is holding its third annual
"Aeromodeling Extravaganza" on the 22nd and 23rd of September.
Mainly focused on attracting new model aviators to the hobby, There will
be Airplanes, helicopters, control-line, model rocket demonstrations, Flight
simulators on laptop computers, so its a sure thing all the kiddies will have a fun

This event is coming up this weekend. The weather is supposed to be perfect and it will be a good time for anyone who wants to come out and fly. There will be plenty of large scale planes and 3D flying is welcome. Please feel free to send me a PM if you need directions or have any questions.

Just a small correction on the dates. It is Saturday September 24th and Sunday September 25th. Come on out and help us grow the hobby in the St. Louis area.

I went to this a few years ago. Had a good time....

For anyone out of town, there is a lot going on in St Louis this weekend. You could spend the day at Buder flying on Saturday or Sunday and then hit a Cardinal or Rams game, Taste of St Louis is going on, a big Barbeque Festival/Competition in Wildwood. Great weekend to travel to St Louis. We hope to see some of you at Buder Park!

We had a great weekend showing off our hobby to the people of St Louis. We had local news coverage of the event and drew well over 1000 spectators. There was a lot of great flying of giants as well as every other kind of model aircraft. We also had the opportunity to give demo flights on the buddy box to close to 100 people with most of those being kids.

We have had this event on the same weekend for the past several years and hope to grow it larger next year. It's a great opportunity to educate the public and grow our hobby. We hope you can make it next year!

i am so upset that I wasnt able to make it...i mean, i was there for about 20 min, but i had to leave for denver the next morning so i wanted to spend the day with my kids before i left.
im really happy it was such a success though! Hey who was the director guy this year? Ive never met him, and apparently
he didnt know me either, because he told me i could not stand in the pit area if i wasnt flying...:-(

Jon Evans was the CD for the event and did a great job IMO. He's a "returning" RCer who has been flying a lot at Buder Park this past few years. He is the recently elected president of GSLMA (Greater St Louis Modelers Association). Jared - you simply need to get out to Buder more often. Hope to see you soon.

Im sure hes a great guy, he just doesnt know me i guess. and yes, that is my fault since i have only flown at buder about 1 time this summer...LOL I wasnt upset by it, i know he was just doing his job.
