MY BEST DAY FLYING
Last summer I had the honor of helping an elder statesman of 92 years young in my club.
For as long as I can remember he never went home without having to rebuild or replace his plane It took some coxing but after assuring him he won't crash my plane I hooked up the buddy box and we were off. He took to it like a duck to water after about 30 minutes we were out of gas and my finger was now a permanent part of the trainer switch. We landed and he was talking up a storm and for that small moment in time he looked like a boy of about 8 with all the love for life that some lose over time. After talking with him I found out he was not only a WW2 vet but also a PEARL HARBOR survivor There's not many of them left and it will be a sad day when he is gone but he is still going strong and I hope to fly with him again soon Now for the plane it's a 150% KADET with a 10 ft wingspan and weighs 17 lbs. yep its a floater. It was built to prove that you don't have to spend a lot of money and/or be afraid to fly something big. I will always have a trainer in the stable as I feel it is my honor to pass on the knowledge of flight to the beginners and help those who may be struggling. I have a logbook for this plane and the oldest to fly it was the 92 year young and the youngest was 2. The plane will be at Joe Nall and all are welcome to fly it , All I ask is you sign the logbook and be apart of history So whats your best day flying ?? See you at Nall all the best Dr Evil |

I remember we had a WWII ace that came to a club out here in Southern Calif. Neat talking to him. Wish I could have talk with him about his sorties. Also meet a WWII pilot in a Carls Jr before a Chino Airshow (having breakfast by himself). We were in a rush and simply told him we appreciated his service. Still wish I took time to have breakfast with him.
