Looking good. I just started hitching up the throttle and choke. Waiting for cannister and another reg from Troybuilt. Then I will be done. I will start it up this week end to see how she runs with no cowl and stock exhaust. I would post some pics but it is identical as yours.... Oh ya, my spinner is coming from China. Who knows when that will come.

just a few pictures. I took a couple of videos of the engine with stock exhaust and with Cannister. Big difference in sound. I have now flown the plane yet.

Looks familiar. There isn't much space for the ignition, mine is pretty tight getting the cowl ring around it.
What are you using for batteries,I'm going with 1500nimh for ignition and 2300 A123 for rx. Hopefully it isn't too heavy.

Exhaust wise,in hind sight,I should have done a pitts or canister.Next time..

Just installed the 16oz. Fourtitude tank, that barely makes it too,had to get a thinner foam pad to go under it,but got it sorted out.

I know I went overboard with batteries. I am using a 1500 Nmh 4.8 for ignition and 2 2300 fromeco lipos for reciever. I thought we would need weight up front so that is why I went that route. If I find that I do not need the weight I will use one 5200 with that thing Troybuilt sells to run ignition and receiver off the same battery. I do like that I am redundant though. I bought MPI switches this time around so a little nervous. I usually run Fromeco switches and never had a problem.
The stock exhaust to me sounds much better but my club would have a field day with me regarding noise.... Hence the cannister. I do like it, it is better quality than I thought. I had a bad 5645(new) for the elevator so I ditched them and just bought hitec 7955's for it. Overkill but I can move them to something else in the future. The servos come today so I should be ready to maiden tomorrow weather permitting.
The foritude looks like a great tank. Is it a little long? I tried to put a Fuji bottle in and it would have gone but it was on the long side. The stock tank is not that good of a shape, it is to narrow and sits kind of high for my liking. I like the size though. I will give it a go. If I can find a different shape tank that comes in around 380-400ml's I will switch.

The 16oz. with the supplied foam pad is a tad high. I am going to use a foam pag I have which lowers it to a good level. I did have to notch the wood where the fill line goes, didn't want the line to rub.

Ok,the tank is all settled in nicely and vented. I mounted a wood block in the belly of the plane and slipped a fuel fitting from an old tank and attached the vent to that. Looks decent.

I just got the batteries this morning. The question lies where to place them. Need to find the cg,may build a vanessa rig to do that. Tim said for initial flights, the front tof the wing tube is a good starting place.

I think I will mount the ignition batt on the motor box, since it is so light. Pretty sure we need weight in the nose. I want to be able to remove the reciever batt for charging, hopefully I can.

Got out today for the maiden. The new DLE ran like a top, I was very impressed. I gave it little left aileron and 2 clicks up. I will have to dial in more expo in all my rates. The tailwheel did not even make the maiden... I knew that thing was a piece of sh%$. The plane is very touchy right now. I will have to wait for a calmer day to give it a proper maiden, it was extremely winding today. It was getting pushed across the sky. I did 2 flights without refueling, I am using the stock tank and it did a total of 18min of flying with a bunch of gas left over.

Ant you will be flying for 2 days with your new tank

Oops,guess I went overboard on the tank.lol

Where did you set the cg at? Was it tail heavy, you say it's touchy?

Show some pics if you can of your completed setup, batt placement, etc.

I'm leaving for Fort Lauderdale in the morning to fish a few days ,so won't be able to finish the plane.
