Tentative maiden on the Suk tomorrow. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow around noon, I forget what it's for but I doubt it's good. As long as the drugs they give me aren't too good, I should be in good shape to hit the field in the early afternoon.

Awesome looking plane! Looking at the Neste Air stickers I think it might be based on Nikolai Timofeev's plane, I saw him fly the full-scale counterpart at an air show in Finland in the early-mid 90's. Cool stuff.

No stickers on this plane (other than black checkers I put on the bottom).

All the markings are done in paint. Like I said this plane was very scale (just missing the small window)

*sigh* I just got off the phone, looks like my engine will be shipped out this week some time, which means I won't be able to have the Sukhoi ready by the weekend....

Shut up! I was last in line, hopefully Ill see it tonight, and I will fly it sunday, top that! (my DA runs like a watch )

Well guys I just got back from the maiden flight. The plane performed great and the engine is showing promise of being a good match for this machine. Apparently I stink at soldering linkages though, as the throttle linkage came undone during the maiden. I was hoping to run the plane out of fuel and glide it in, but the throttle eventually slowed down to where I couldn't hold onto my altitude and I had to make an approach. Once I touched down the throttle increased but not enough for takeoff, so I had to nose the plane over and kill the prop. No other damage except to my ego, and the real bummer is the weather is supposed to be perfect for the rest of the week and I don't have a prop now. I'll be heading up to Bellingham this weekend to do some flying and will grab another prop up there, so I'll report back once I get the plane going again. I'm pretty bummed that my solder joint failed but I'm otherwise very pleased with the flight performance of the Sukhoi. Roll rate on 3D rates is very quick and this plane does awesome tumbles! Unfortunately the lighting was too dark to get any good flight shots but I got a few of the plane on the ground.

I'm going to charge up the AW260 and I'll be there this weekend. Are we shooting for Sunday?

Now that I need a prop, I might head up on Saturday and stay for both days.
