Hello again, Back with an update on my progress of the Valiant. In my previous post I included pictures of the baffle for the GT-33 engine. So now I have it glued in the cowl. I only had to trim a little more out on the mid left for the fuel line to come through without putting the foam in a bind position. Other than that it fit like a glove. You need to measure and mark 4 1/2"
from the back of the cowl all around the inside of the cowl and glue in the baffle. In the last two pictures you can see what the baffle looks like when the cowl is bolted up. Steve Mullis

SmokinKat, Nice maiden my friend. Can hardly wait for some nice weather here so I can do the same. Man the plane lands so slow and looks great with the tires. Great Landings, Steve Mullis

Thanks steve! Ive enjoyed watching your build. Your doing a very nice job!! Ive been flying for nearly 32 years and this plane is prob the nicest all around flying plane ive flown. It has no bad tendencies at all. Whoever designed this plane at H9 got all the best flying characteristics possible in one plane. I would have bought the articulated gear like you have but they were outta stock when I started. Looking forward to your flight vid

gabe221, No I am afraid not. The tail wheel is spring steel with a 90 degree bend at the top of the gear that is just epoxied in a hole and grove in the leading edge of the rudder. The steel size is about 4 mm in dia. Steve

Ok, thanks Steve.

Another Question--What servos did both of you use? I'm making a list of the items needed . I have looked at the manual, just wondering if ya'll use the recommended items.

gabe221, I used the A6150HV servos on my Valiant. Although the servos are rated for 8.4 volts I am also using just a single 6.6 volt A-123 3200mah battery. It was really the price of the servos that sold me on them. I have never used Spektrum servos before. They are real quiet and I just used the stock servo arms that came with the servos. Steve

I have those servos on a couple of projects and I'm quite happy with them.

They also come with hex drive servo mounting screws and a hex head servo arm screw. Someone finally listened that we have been throwing away phillips head screws for years and did something about it.

BarracudaHockey, Yes I agree on the servo screws. That is an added plus for these servos. I have been using hexhead screws for mounting servos for years since I found FLT fasteners. I know you can buy servo arm in the hex heads but this is the first time I have seen them included in a servo pak. Steve

Sorry about that pilots, Typo error on my part. I meant to say RTL fasteners. Steve
