Hi All, I just got back from Lake Havasu on Monday. I sold my WM 1/3 scale cub on floats about 2 years ago and when I heard my friend was going to sell the airframe I bought it back. It now has JR8911HV servos on Duralite Flight systems 7.4V Super Ions and a new GP-123 on the front. Although in break in mode with a XOAR 28X10 this thing was torque rolling at 1/3rd stick and ROCKETS out. I plan to install a Biella 27X12CF for float clearance. Never a call for full power but nice to have it. Not sure if anyone got any video but it's always fun to go there and fly.

I had that video at one time but I think I lost it when a computer of mine crapped out. You are the reason I got my WM 1/3 clipped cub! I wanted one to 3-D and fly scale and put floats on it! I finally got the floats but haven't finished them yet.

I put a 3W106 in mine and broke a couple 28x10s due to low clearance so I run 27x10s. Like you, full throttle only on up lines and really only when needed (which it really never needs).

Wow...
Very nice. I have questions.. How much flight time do you get per charge. What size battery do you use, and which charger? Also, what made you go e power vs gas, and do you ever wish you had gone gas instead.

Thanks,
Phil

Build Thread is here:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1370190

I run 4 - 6S 5800 mAh batteries that gives me 8 minutes of spirited flying. I have a generator and 2 Hyperion DUO chargers that allows me to charge all 4 batteries simultaneously

This is a scratch built 50% Clipped wing Cub that was designed to be electric. I am completely electric (including a 40% IMAC plane) so it made sense to make this Cub e-powered. There are very few local fields that allow gas so this also affected my decision.

Thanks Brother! It would be fun to fly them together some time. The original video is on the first post on this thread. Take Care.

Okay dude, maybe you need me to find out if you "could" ever call for full power on it!

Holy Smoke! Virginia? Ahhh Yeeeeeah. Well someday or get it to the Joe Nall in May. I'll prolly bring mine to Nall with Floats as the 3D line is way too over populated.

hell yeah! anything is possible- just need power and a prop

Not exactly hucking, but here is a shot of my buddy Marc and I flying formation for the first time. We had a ball and I look forward to getting better at flying with each other. The same day, I took my J-3 up with a 15+ aircraft Cub Gaggle. Not a single midair was had

Marc was flying his BH 40% (above) and I was in the H9 25% (below).

I love Cubs. Shortly after I got back into RC I built this CMP Cub with a JC-28. It's flown by my friend Bob. I clipped the wings on the plane and recovered it. In the vid there is no cowl on the plane. It's the second flight on it. I did put the cowl on the next time I took it out. I used that plane to learn about gas engines and setups and gave it to a friend of mine at the end of the flying season. I think he still has it.

Now I want another Cub. Have this DA-60 sitting around with nothing to do.

Maiden day...again!

I am all loaded up to see what the 1/4 scale clipped wing Hempel cub can do with a da-60 and floats

Special thanks to acs_guitars and barracudahockey for giving me hard point measurements.

Thanks to Terry's custom for the laser work for the rear float mount reinforcements.
