My friend and I both got am yaks for christmas and we were wondering how good both of these planes flew. I got the 33 and he got the 30. We were wondering do they do precision and imac well. We know they are good 3d planes but I also want to do some imac comps with it untill I get my 40% finished.

I fly the bigger brother of those Yaks and it is an excellent precision airplane and as a bonus it does 3D even better. I have flown all of the AM Yaks and they all fly great. I am even considering a 33% for myself.

We both got them in the orange scheme to. The 33% is a great looking plane and is pretty large. The reason that I got the 33 is because of the power to weight ratio. So do you think it will be good in imac comps??? I will be doing sportsman this year and I will be flying in the shoutout if every thing goes well.

Yes, the 33% will be perfect for the sportsman sequence. In fact it would be excellent for any level of IMAC. With an 80 single this plane is a monster! Stay in touch and get some photos up so we all can see your new bird.

Actually it is a funny story. I thought for some reason I was not getting anything rc for christmas untill I walked in my storage room and secretley discovered the beast. It was the closest I had ever come to having a heart atack.

My friend will be using the da-50 for power and a wrap around muffler. He will be using a mejlik 23x10-24x10 for the prop. I think we will both be using graphtech main gear and tail gear. I will be using a 3w 80xi only if the da 75 does not come out soon. I will be using a tuned pipe or pitts, I havent choosen yet. We will both be using 5955s all around. I will be using a mejlik 26x10.

i have 5985 on rudder and 5645's on everything else.a 3w toc 50 engine on stock jhonson muffler and two 2700 nicads on radio and one 1750 nimha on ignition.no i have'nt boothered with any carbon but did upgrade all the control horns and hindges, mine came with the crappy black flat hindges so i went robarts.extra260 you will find both those props are alittle too much for a da 50,you need to go to a 22 8 or 23 8 prop.the 22 8 is a good prop to start with, the 23 8 flies that engine with easy after it is broken in for about 4 gallons

Thanks for the info. I'm convinced, Hitec 5645 & a 5985's looks like a good servo line up.

Yeah it is. I have a 5645 on the rudder of my extra 260 and it is plenty of power. Anyways anyone else have experience with these planes???
