Default Re: Oh My!! No Dual RX on 2.4!!

you can use more than one rx -IF you stay on same TX model --this is a reply from P Beard - on RC Groups - we asked that same question - you don't need to do them at the same time -binding one after another is fine.
also 6100 and 7000 rx will bind together 6000 will not bind using either - the reason is the protocol for 6000 is different (early type ).
send him an Email if in question.

Hi Judge
can you please elaborate why you think this? I am considering two Rxs and two batteries/switch harnesses. I was thinking also why not join them up across the common power lines? So now its not either/or but a hybrid of both. I suppose it boils down to the relative frequency and probable consequences of each type of failure, for example a shorted servo would probably knock out the lot, but if the two systems were totally separate then the model ought to remain controllable?

here are the bones of an outcome matrix which for the present exclude power expanders, regulators; things I would rather not have unless they show an reliability advantage:

Type of failure
Type of setup One cell or switch o/c One cell shorted Rx down
Single Rx, twin NIMH, SW harnesses
survive Probable survival Bye-bye

Two Rxs each with single NiMH& Switch survive Probable survival survive
Two Rxs each with single NiMH& Switches and power cable interconnect survive Probable enhanced survival due to all servos powered Probable survival. Depends on what the wayward Rx tried to do

Drat! I don't know how to make this read like a table, maybe someone can show how? I tried pasting from WORD and also tabs, no use.

these were the setups, and it's a 4x4 table in WORD

3 Types of setup:
1) Single Rx, twin NIMH, SW harnesses
2) Two Rxs each with single NiMH& Switch
3) Two Rxs each with single NiMH& Switches and power cable interconnect

apologies for the poor formatting again.

My setup in my Aeroworks 33% Edge 540T, using the DX7

1. throttle
2. ailerons both "y"
3. elevator left
4. rudder 2 in rudderbox pp "y"
5. elevator right
6. rx battery #1
7. rx battery #2

With that setup it was easy to program and works great!

What is interesting is the logical corner you get backed into here.
I'm going to go in a corner and sit in the fetal position shaking with my thumb in my mouth.
