Moved to Panama in 2005 from Delaware, "Delaware R/C" member for 10 +
Shipped my Balsa USA Fly Baby Bipe from the States. Built between '89 and '92 with first flight late '92. G38 for power and still flies great. Not a barn burner but something that I can keep up with. Must have well over 1000 sorties to date. Not a "Hanger Queen". Don't usually post or start threads because am usually long winded but decided to give it a try. Large aircraft nothing new to me but next to what I've seen here so far I'm "new to the Giants" Have attached two pictures of my baby. joe |

Have not built anything "Giant" other that ARFs since the Fly Baby. Have plans for a Hostetler 115" Tri Pacer that I'm looking at for a come back project. Always liked the looks of the "ugly duckling". Haven't decided if I'll scratch it all the way or go the "kit cutters" route.
Be checking in from time to time as I get further into the project. Going to fly my 26 year old Aquila this weekend. Big in a different way. Not flown for a year. Knee knocking time. Converted to electric before leaving States. AXI 2820 and 13" folder. High starts and winches I never liked. Still flies well as an electric. There I go off topic again. Keep your wings level. joe ![]() ps the young guy is me a "few" years ago in Visalia CA at the Fall Sail Fest |

Hostettler designs a nice bird, I own a Hostettler designed Cessna 152 with a Zenoah GT-80 in the nose. It was built from a kit cutters parts, but I don't remember the name.
Good luck on your decision. If you go with the Tri Pacer, Sierra Precision makes some sweet gear for Hostettler kits, I have their nose gear on my Cessna. |
