Default Katana v2 70 with YS Engine

Does anyone have this setup??? Katana 70 with a YS engine to power her. I am getting this set-up for christmas. Also what are some good servos for this plane. I cant wait to fly her. The 46 size is so sweet cant wait for the 70.

That'll be an awesome setup. I flew mine today with a SuperTigre 90 in it, performance with mine is great, more than enough power to do anything, and hovers at about half throttle. The YS will smoke the ST for about the same weight, I'm sure yours will be awesome.

The landing gear that comes with it is trash. no matter how soft you land, it bends out/back, and my plane is only 6lbs RTF, so it's not heavy. Do yourself a favor and either make a new gear from aluminum, or order a set of tetherite gear from OMP. I'm waiting on my Tetherite to arrive, the stock setup sucks.

  1. Engine : YS 110
  2. Servos : JR 559 MG
  3. Batt. : Futaba 1500mAh 6V or Durallite 2400 with reg. 6v

It is beyond ballistic,I built 2 with that setup. My first one meet an ugly death due to the stock hardware was not up to task,OMP had no prob with hooking me right up with a replacement.the second one i used Dubro hardware with ball links on 5625,s on ail-5645 on tail.the stock fuel tank only gave me a 6min flight,so i got a tank that was 100cc largerAs for the gear i used the tetherite the first time, they where to flexable for me and the 16x4 so the second plane i used the stock wire gear with the tetherie together ........Doug

i currently switched engines and put a OS 91 four stroke and it does just as well. you can tell it is a 70 size though! flies a lot slower than the 46.

WOW 110 YS on a V2 Katana 70 it's sick! :-) well too much power for me, not to mention the vibs you gona' get from it, i think that a 91 will be very good enough for her, if a saito 100 does the job so awesome why not a YS 91.
And if you want even more power try the 30% nitro Helli Performance by Omega fuels, it will work like a Swiss Doksa clock.
