What a relief! Finally after a year of repairs to a damaged airframe I was able to remaiden her. I put four flights on it today all without incident. Now that the maiden is complete I can start puting graphics on her. Enjoy the pics.

When do you plan on getting Video of it flying? I also have a cap that size except it is a 3W 44% and I plan on running the 3W 200 also. How did the engine pull it around.

youngflyer, I must have been absent that day at school when they were teaching us about puting switches in our birds. I have been using MPI heavy duty charge jack switches in my planes for the last 5 years and have never had a problem. I am open for any suggestions.

well ive had one plane (small gasser) go down from a failed switch and many others including friends and people online have had a plane go down from a cheap switch. if it works than its fine but you have already spent thousands on the plane, you might want to consider using top of the line switchs that have redundancy (i.e duralite)! for me, running 7 servos wont kill me or my switch or even my rec for that matter but if i was running over 10 or more than $1000-1500 on my plane, than i would make sure i could prevent a cheap part from ruining my day

Hoping I don't anger the plane gods on this one....I used the Heavy Duty manual switches for years.....and never had a failure. But after seeing a few fail first hand....I decided to find another product. I try to take as many saftey precautions as I can within financial reason. The only product I use is the Emcotec DSPI mini in all my gassers, which one of it's many features is a failsafe switch. That used in conjunction with the failsafe ignotion switch that came factory on my ZDZ 80 RV-J "Super", I just hope that if they are ever needed, they function as advertised. Good luck with the Cap....I know how long and hard a rebuilt of that size can be. I tackled a 46% Giles rebuild.......it's a long hard task. Neo |

I wouldn't risk all my time and money without running redundant batteries. I also am running the power commander which is as safe as it gets.
