Default QQ PYTHON 75CC

I am thinking of buying this plane around febuary but i am stuck! I cant decide what plane. I thought about getting the 75cc python for competitions, but then i say the aeroworks 75cc. Then i also thought about the 102" or 86" qq yak 54. i am stuck and need help.

Also for these 75cc planes, i would rather save money and buy a super zdz 80 rv rather than a bme 110 or da 100!

102" Yak gets my vote, seems that everyone who has flown one loves them. Python would also be good but its not available yet and i dont like biplanes until you get to really lrage scales like 2.8 meter Pitts Challanger.

Dont get the 85" yak as it looks like absolute ****e.

Here's my advice...it is worth what you're paying for it (which, of course, is nothin'), but here it is anyway.....

1) Assuming that your field has enough space to fly one and that you can transport it well, I'd recommend getting a 100cc plane. The cost difference between the 75cc size and the 100cc sizes isn't that great, and you might need an extra aileron servo on each wing, and you'll have a few more bucks in the engine. In the big scheme of things, it isn't that much more $$.

2) I haven't flown the 102" QQ YAk, but have heard very good feedback on its flight performance.

3) Lastly, save up a little more if you have to, but make sure you buy high quality components the first time around. Don't "baby step" your way into where you are trying to go (like I did), rather commit to the project and get the right components...especially servos. For example, you could get by with JR 8411 servos on the elevators and ailerons on your bird, but for a few bucks more you could have 8611A servos with twice the torque, holding/centering power, and (perhaps) better resolution. Do you NEED the 8611A's on a 102" Yak??? Not really, but next year you'll probably want a different (larger) plane and you may find yourself trapped by the component choices your making today.

4) If you're sure you'll never go to 100cc size planes, then the ZDZ Super would be my engine of choice for a sub-34% aerobatic airframe.

Incidentally, this morning I left my IMAC plane in the trailer and flew my "freestyle/funfly" plane which is a H-9 33% Edge with a DA100, 8611A's all around, 3 2800mAh LiIons/Regs, Smartfly fiber optic ignition cut-off. I got such a stupid-good deal on the plane that I just had to buy it (traded, actually.) I loaded it up with components I'll use in my next plane (maybe a Comp-Arf Yak 55?) I will never regret spending the extra $$$ on the equipment on that plane. Too many people buy new, then sell at a tremendous loss to then buy what they should have bought in the first place!!!

Good luck with your project!

Robert.

ps: Your info on the left side of the page says you're from King City. There is a King City just 40 or so miles from me...are you in King City California? (I'm sure there's a King City in just about every state!)

The Python is a "sexy" looking plane...but the Yak is more likely to be the trouble-free contest winner for you...just my $.02

I've heard that the DA 100 would go well with the QQ Yak 54 "102" and performs pritty well in the air too. My dad is thinking of getting one too and i'm thinking of the QQ Python with a DA 100 but I've got to save up first.

Thanks Jake

I dont know if this is even relevant anymore as this is an old thread but the QQ 102 with a DLE 111 is an great combo.
