Default Why not a edge 540

i flew at a imac contest in oct. and asked a lot of questions but not this one.
there was not a edge 540 in the group. im int the market for a 35% and i can get a cardan 35% edge highly modified in the bones pretty cheap.

From what i understand, when you get to the upper levels of IMAC, the edge dosen't snap as well as say an Extra or a YAK. I believe this is a result of the straight leading edge.

But for general Flight, Edges rule, and for 3D they are amazing.

I have a 30% edge (KMP) with a DA 50, its 15.3 lbs and is AMAZING.

Hope that helps a little.

They don't snap well at all and that straight leading edge makes it easier for judges to think your line is off. I haven't seen an Edge perform well in precision competitions pretty much ever...

Stall maneuvers are also tough, when that straight wing stalls it doesn't break, it just mushes forward. Makes it tough to do the required spin maneuvers, I have to coax mine into it with rudder, where as my Cap will go much more smoothly into a spin.

I say DO IT. Edges will IMAC just fine. For most applications, it's the man on the sticks. BTW, how cheap?

1200.00 built (lightend by about 3 pounds ) a few other things

900.00 for kit
300.00 to build

sence i dont have a way to sheet any thing & he has every thing to build it i think its a great deal.

ive flown his its awsome.

as Eurylokhos said it dose not stall to well but when the tail drops a little kick the rudder and there it is.

i only fly basic. dont plane to do any other class. im not in it for the compition, im in it for the fun, friends, & shop talk, freestyle,

i just like getting out & meeting new people.

Well if basic is your only class.........

No snaps in basic. Only the spin and you can learn to spin with an edge. If I can do it than anyone can.

Its a good price and a good plane.
