Bad-ass Super Contributer!
![]() |
Anyone ever built one of the kits from Exclusiv-Modellbau? They look pretty complicated especially with control surfaces and that they could be harder to build than a Carden.
Anyways, I'd like to build their 2.15m Ultimate. Here's a link to their website: http://www.emhw.de/ |

Like Adrian said,
Great flying machines - TOO MUCH WORK! I built 3 planes from EM, I am now just finishing my 2.48 Katana. I am sure I will love it and it will fly great, but never more. with the ARF quality stuff today, one should not spent all that time to build..... Here it is... Ziv |

WOW! That is some nice work, Monokote or Ultracote?
My main concern is all the work involved. The kits are pricey and I'd rather spend the extra $650 to get the H9 Ultimate that would also be bigger than the 2.15m one. |

Hi Ben,
That is Monokote. You can follow my thread for this katana here: http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...ng-thread.html It is indeed hard work, and lots of it. there are very good laser cut kits today, that are easier to build. Dalton, Carden, Aerotech kits. Cheers, Ziv |

I agree. One guy sent me a link to someone who is making plans and a kit cutter for the old Ohio Models kits.

Mine was really a quality kit, Good wood, everything fit well, however not cheap...
I do not think its really harder that any other kit as long as you speak german (On-line conversion does not work, to many technical words).... That is what made it slightly harder than normal. It had buildup wings. The 40% Katana has really light wings, however I would have put the hinges vertical like they are on the pitts. |

I was going to build the Pitts Challenger until I saw the price tag of the kit, added a few hundred clams and bought my Comp Barf Super Extra instead. Neat planes, just too much dough for a kit.

I've built the 185 cm Ultimate. Best plane I have got so far. It's true that there is a little work to be done, but everything fits so perfect that building is a real pleasure. My plane weights, powered with a DA50 about 7,2 kg. No trimming was needed at my maidenflight.

Hmmm
Great kits but lots off work in them. Have a closer look at this DANISH thread, notice the date when posted. Lots of pictures gives you and idea off the kits. http://www.rc-unionen.dk/nytforum/to...TOPIC_ID=11964 By the way it's power by 3W212 B4 engine Brgds Joen |
