My vote is for the SD or Aeroworks 260. I think the SD will fly a little lighter, though, but doesn't look as good, IMO. I have friends that have both and I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either, although I like the QB aspect of the Aeroworks...would satay away from the CA and H9 options - too small for a 50cc, IMO. The BME Extra and the Wildhare Extras are nice-looking planes, too, but you have to be willing to accept 16-18 pounds, it seems - not bad at sealevel, but a no-go for anything over a couple thousand feet ASL...

What about the lanier extra? I have the edge (87") and just love it, Light, nice fit and finish. I was very impressed! I would have got the extra but the edge was in stock, and I am not plane racist.

I'm about 90% complete assembling the SD-MODELS 260 EXTRA - I sent you a PM.
I'm a little apprehensive posing such a 'raw' review - tho honest as it is intended to be - no malicious intent at all. Honest means good and not so good. Mostly fact - as I see it - some opinion. I bought from Jason Reddish ( Racinjasonr4@aol.com) --new GM for US sales) from FG swap shop w/ PayPal. Good deal & good experience. Bottom line - I'm happy with the purchase and can't wait for the Maiden!!

The Dietrich Aircraft Extra 260 looks like it would be a nice choice if you are willing to wait. Here are a couple of pictures.

Well my SD-MODELS 260 EXTRA finished out at 17# using two 6v. NiMh packs and the DA50 & KS canister. Maiden flight was a no surprises breeze - but later I had a canister connection problem, so the day was cut short.
As I said in the PM some of the hardware was upgraded - but over all, I recommend their model.

I have the Aero-works 50cc size Yak and Extra 260 and they are awesome! The QB,s fit together like a glove no modifications or rework, they are the best Arf's I have ever put together and fly Awesome. Mark Leseberg flew the 260 at our big bird fun fly last summer and loved it. Rocco and the guy's are great to work with at Aero-works. Rich
