Got me Edge in the mail yesterday! arrived in perfect condition. Put the CA hinges together as well.

Do you guys think two standard mini JR servos in the tail would be good for the elevator halves? i dont like the wooden rod set-up recommended in the manual. Would they have enough torque?

Which servo in particular are you looking at using? This setup that youre talking about would probably work very well. I am undecided on how im going to link mine. I may go with 4 pull pull cables on one larger servo, or a pushrod with the elevator halves joined using piano wire.

I know I sound like a broken record sometimes, and I often complain about some planes being heavy for my taste , but based on not only the specs as I read them in Model Airplane News, but also from what I personally saw of the exact review plane flying at the AZ E-fest, this is a flying tank!!! This thing only has 40 more square inches than a Fliton AJ330, but the EP review plane weighed over 3 pounds more! The specs in the review said it had about 552 squares and weighed somewhere around 6.3 pounds - that's almost a 30 ounce wingloading!!! And it showed in the air. The pilot liked to do spins with it from a few hundred feet up, but could only do like 3 or 4 because the plane was dropping like 40 feet per rotation!
Remarkably, though, it did look pretty stable on landings, although it landed pretty fast.
I sure hope yours doesn't come out as heavy...I mean, MAN has a tendancy of building heavy review planes, that's for sure!

are you sure MAN wasnt using a GP version converted to electric? right now mine doesnt have the li-po's in but feels like a bit too light. As if it wont survive a gust of wind. I havent weighed it yet though

I have mini's from a brand called E servo (made in Japan). i am beginning to feel they may not have enough torque...i might just go with two JR539s for the elevators...or even a single servo in the tail...
