I find any more than 5mins can be hazardous. Thats with pretty much 0 throttle management though (rippin it around the whole time).

Got a question about batteries...i came across some info about li-po batteries and amp draws and stuff and developed doubts about using the 1800mA packs in series to make 6S. Can anyone tell me if its ok on the 1800mAH li-po's to be hooked up in series like this? would they be over discharged or have amp draw more than they can provide?? i cant measure the current draw so wanna be sure.
The darned 4000mAH still havent arrived. so far i've flown with 3S and its slugish to say the least.

Heres a quick overview:
If youre running an 1800mah pack that is capable of 20c, then the max current is 36amps. If the motor is able to pull 70 amps, youre going to fry the packs. When you put them in series, all youre doing is upping the voltage, not the capacity. For this plane, 1800mah packs are most likely too small. You should also get a watt meter from astroflight. They are worth their weight in gold. On another note...here is the video http://www.10374.com/3dbatix/videos/...40_EP_0001.wmv

arrr...no wonder my li-po's look puffed up....lol
yeah that was the exact same thought that made me not fly the plane but i couldnt resist a maiden. it was lying there all ready to be flown, shining in the innocence of its brand new wrinkle free covering...calling out to me...fly me fly me put me inthe air just this once.... how could i refuse . (note to self: leave PC and get fresh air) the maiden was great BTW. it needed absolutely no trim....but it was flying like a slow flyer. maybe with the speed with the 6S batteries it might need some trim. the video isnt working...says link not found on the server |

Yes its the 14x7. If i get any time, i will do some research on amp draw. I believe it could take a larger prop with the 4600 packs, but would have to verify using my Eagle Tree Data Logger.

I finally got mine...I ordered mine from here,
http://www.rocousa.com/detail.asp?Pr...=KYOSHO_10065b My setup is a Axi 4130/16 with a jeti 77 amp esc. My battery pack is a Tanic 5s1p 5000 pack. My prop is a Apc 14 x 7 prop. The plane flies very nice for me. I am using JR DS811 with a JR 770S reciever. My radio is a JR 9303 (don't fly futaba anymore) It flies very nice is 3d, mine can do any trick in the book. I ordered the EP version |

Mine's been up in the air now quite a few times. the 4100mAH 6S packs make it insane...but the amp draw with the 14x7 E prop is high as well...my ESC has been getting really hot lately... i'm installing the optional cooling heat sink that i got for it. Also gonna experiment with a 13x? prop.
flying is amazing...no trim required whatsoever...how do you guys secure your li-pos for the flight? i am not happy with the velcro strips i am using. |
