Default A CUBED Engines

Hi Guys;

I have a Lancair by Wendell with a A Cubed 8.8 cu. in. engine and 23/23 prop. I have damaged the prop and need to buy some. the manufacturer is no longer working. I am in Dubai, UAE. can any of you guys help me to find a 23/23 carbon fibre prop?.

Also i am looking for a good AT6 kit to go as fast as Fred French. Can you help me to locate the supplier?.

Much appreciate it.

Regards

Reza

Actually it is the 1999 and 2000 world champion. It is a legend and i bought from Wendell and yes it makes you sweat to fly. i get over 200 mph from it but unfortunately prop came off and it is damaged.

Bolly does a 24x24. I would bet that Desert Aircraft would have it in stock.

I think Bill Cunningham is on here now and he flew a Lancair with the A Cubed motor for years. Might ask him if he might have any spare props laying around. Very cool motors but they drink the glow fuel.

Chuck Winter now makes those carbon props (formerly Race-Pro) and he is in Merced, California. I have his number and I'll dig it up and post it here.

You might want to get in contact with Fred Sattler at fsattler@psnw.com. He sells a 21 x 25. This prop had my Lancair turning laps at 230 to 233 mph on the course. It's a much more efficient prop than the Bolly or old Race Pro. Cut it down to 20".

That's a great point Tom K....the prop that Fred Sattler makes would be a much better alternative. I would definitely go with that one.

You wont be able to get your hands on a NA-50 unless you get one used. The guy who makes the kit will only make one for you if he thinks that you are qualified enough to fly the airplane at a safe and respectable level. Then, and only then you will be able to pay $5,000 for one. The NA-50 is one hell of a handfull of an airplane and is definatly not for someone who just wants to go fast.

The Miss Ashley by Tom Easterday is a very good flying airplane and has proven itself in the unlimited class. So that might be a better way for you to go

Unless you already fly something VERY fast the NA50 is no place to feed a go fast urge. It is past fast and would be nothing but unsafe in nothing shy of a very, very good experienced race pilots hands. No disrespect. I mean 16,000' in just over what 80 seconds? That just sounds fast!!!
A pleasure to watch though!

I have now ordered a Miss Ashley from Tom Easterday with a Aerrow 200 RSS tuned and modified by Fred French. I hope that answer to your questions. I also have started a AT-6 by yellow aircraft and will choose the engine later as we are in discussions with fred. Please only those with real experience give their comments or share their experiences.
Much appreciated
