Default What size fuel tank?

This is my 1st gas plane. I am going to be running a Fuji BT43EI. What size fuel tank should I run? What run time should I expect per oz of fuel? I am putting the setup on a Goldberg extra 330. Also what fuel line size and set up ( vent ? ) should I use? Pictures of fuel line setup would be great. Thanks

not sure on run time, but with my DA-50, I use a 16oz tank and it lasts about 18 minutes

Yep, 16 ounces max. You could even get away with 14. I typically only fly my planes for 10 minutes on a 16 ounce tank and have 1/3 tank left.

A rough rule of thumb is 1 oz /min/50 cc increment, 1 oz/ min 50 cc, 2 oz/min 100 cc and so on. Smaller motors may take a bit less.

Yep,
Goldberg Xtra 330, Fuji BT43EI, Futaba S3010 servos.
Starting the assembly now.
Only I am waiting for is the smartfly power expander and ignition shutoff.
Still need help with the gas change over from nitro.
How do you guys vent the tank?
A check valve in a vent line?

What kind of performance are you looking for? Acording to my estimates you will end up with a 77" airplane weighing in a a hefty 18#. Sorry to be a wet blanket.

I just put everything on the postal scale. ( minus the smartfly power expander and the ignition shut off ).
All up weight of 14.85 lbs.
I will ad a generous 1.5lb for anything that may have been forgoten.
But the 14.85lbs wasentire airframe, cowl, conopy, wheel pants, wheels, pilot, tank, spinner, prop, engine, all radio gear with extensions, 3 batteries packs ( 2 for radio, 1 for ignition ), all aircraft hardware.
I think I covered all the weight bases well.
I was figureing a flying weight of 15.5 - 16 lbs.
I do want to try some 3D.
I live at sea level ( Atlantic City NJ ) so I figured that the motor would have some extra power then at a higher altitude.
I have read many forums of guys that have had this plane, at that weight range, at a higher altitude and were able to do 3D just fine.
I am hoping this all will be O.K., I am not expecting to have monster, monster pull out from a houver with this setup.
I could pass up this intro into Gas planes.
Plane $220.00 @ the door.
Motor $295.00 @ the door.
Like I said, this is my 1st steps into something big, so this is new for me.
