I have proved to myself that,
1) I really SUCK at covering. 2) I REALLY HATE covering 3) This YAK is only loosing the green, I'm not recovering the entire plane. But here's what I have instead of the green... it looks good from 50 feet... I suck...

Got a little too friendly with the heat gun?
oh well it will look fine in the air.....doesn't look that bad. I always seem to burn a little spot on all of my new planes anyway.....just trying to "tighten up" the covering a little.

No.. no.... the hole came from my son... I left that part out. he bumped me while I was trimming the green away.
I was bummed because I just can't cover... I have no idea how to stretch anything over anything... besides that its ok.... but not "damn thats sweet." perhaps after I see if this thing flys half way decent I'll strip it and do my best... for now... the red and white "NEMO" stripes will have to do. BUT!!! I have no green anywhere on the plane any more!! WHoo Hooo! (Sorry Charlie Chang!)

Think I'll try the monocoat windex trick when I try to do my own scheme.

I slapped a lil tite bond on all the joints and a bit of epoxy on the firewall (as well as some angle balsa.) and its looking pretty decent. I also supported the hatch a bit, it was really lite, but a bit sparse for my likeing... but if you want a practice 35% to beat the poo out of.. this may be it... Then again I could finally get it airborne and it could fall apart... who knows, but from what I can see and feel, its no better or worse than most ARF's out there. One thing though... the covering is on nicely... but it is lame covering... its most likely China coat... my first guess was due to how tight the covering is... and its still nice, but taking off that green it was easy to see it was china coat. if I didn't cover like a coma victim on LSD.. I'd probably rip off the covering and re-do it... I still may if I can find someone around here that knows how to cover and can show me. I have come to terms with the fact that the few covering techniques I had.. do not work.

Sleepy, is this from the guy in STL? Did it ship from STL or did it come straight from overseas?

If its Ultra Cote... its a version I have never seen.
its white on the glue side, and when you remove it, it seems to leave the color behind, and a clear layer pulls off. nothing a bit of the old paint thinner won't take off though.

They told me it was Oracover/Ultracote. Did they ship the plane to your house or you have to pick it up somewhere.
