ok today at the meeting we decided to go with a bigger plane, so we are getting a 160 size katana with a saito 1.80. that should work a little better than my f100. will post pics as soon as the plane is ready to go

I have done some towing with 4 meter gliders. I called JUDGE and listened to what he told me. Because of this, we had a great experience. JUDGE knows all!

I used my 50cc yak and built a tow release behind the canopy. I could take that glider to 1000 feet in 15-20 seconds. It was not scale.

That sounds like fun. I might have to think about that . My Yak should be able to do about the same.

You can't go beyond 45 degrees or the glider stalls. With the tow release behind the canopy I did notice that I had to have some down elevator to keep from getting too steep.

I did put flying wires on the top of the plane like Judge described. One last piece of advice he gave me. The glider pilot must not steer the plane, only keep the wings level. When you circle the tow plane will pull it around the corner.

that looks like it would do a nice job at towing. but we are using mainly 2 meter so a smaller plane with a much lower priced motor will have to do
