Default RC Helicopter Magazines

Just thought I'd start a thread to share some of the RCHeli magazines I know of.

www.rchelimag.com (good magazine)

www.rotory.com (there's a link somewhere to the mag)

ummm any others?

I currently only subscribe to RCHeliMag... but in the past I had a years subscription of rotory...

For technical content MHT is THE one to go with. RCHeli seems like a good one as well, I just got a subscription to it. If you can find old issues of MHT, pick up vol.12 no.4 (July/Aug 2005) as it has our very own Hitch-Hiker on the cover and as the feature pilot profile!

Guys like most of you I can never get enough info, So I read alot and most all of the mags. The one thing that bothers me the most is no heads up comparison. I'm not sure what these editors are afraid of that is what I want and I'm sure others would love to see. The motorcycle industry has been doing it for years. heads up shootouts look at the improvements over the years we get there. Imagine if every year every 50 class helo had to go up aganist every other 50- class helo. The manafactures would have to make huge improvements every year to stay o top or to compete with the best. The arguement I get most often is there is only a handful on manafactures that make a 50 class helo. Well guess what guys there is only five manafactures that compete in the shotouts anually.. Well my opinon is just that and until one of these editors has the balls to throw down with a shootout well its every man for himself.

Most magazines today seem useless.

Everything gets a good review because they also sponsor the magazine and don't want to badmouth a sponsor.

Kinda like RCU, can't get any real honest info.

some of the tech articles are good. But the days of magazines has long past. Very few I think will survive the next 5 years.

I agree, with the WWW there is a lot more info more readily available than what you can get in magazines.

There used to be a mag out for shooting that had ZERO advertising.
All income and expenses were covered by subscriptions.
When they did a review they went to the local gun store and purchased a gun and then reviewed it.
They never even bought a product direct from the manufacturer to be sure that they did not get one that had been tweaked for better than stock performance.
There were many times that they came right out and said product X is POS pile of junk, don't ever buy it.

All of their reviews were painfully honest since there were no advertisers to worry about pissing off.

I would love to see a heli mag like that.

I don't know. Helies took over all of my available cash.
But if they print it I will buy it.

I like the pics and ads that are in the mags. You don't get to see that always on the net unless you do a search for it. Although if I don't even know it exists then how can I google it. I still like mags as a suplimentary way to be introduced to the newest items. Then I google to get more in depth info.
