Seems the MOST i can get out of my heli is +9 and -7.5 ....
I have a Raptor swashplate leveling tool i got from John on Helifreak, I have the link on the inside of the collective arm which should give the most range, i have my servo installed per the manual with the arm closest to the main shaft, i have the ball in the servo arm installed at the farthest hole out on the futaba start servo wheel which should give even more travel than the middle 10.5mm hole they recommend..... My blades are 0 pitch when im at 50% pitch. im at a loss..... Should i go to a longer arm on the servo? any other common mistakes? |

I got it i think..... used a longer arm and set my endpoints to get +9 -9 with the new arm it's capable of +10 -10 but im sticking to 9 hi and low for now.
Should +9 and -9 on stock locations be possible? Raptor .30 v1, Just want to make sure im not possibly masking another problem? |

I've turned my servo around 180 degrees from the manual's position (so the output shaft is closest to the nose) and used a servo horn long enough to make the link run straight up and down from the servo to the collective tray. I can get +11/-11.

Does your radio have endpoints? are they set high enough?? if you can raise them, crank em up! higher is better!

with the longer arm i nailed 90 degrees on the arm with 0 subtrim and 110% both ways gave me +9 and -9. 125% gives me +10 -10. I might try what was posted above later, and turn the servo around and use a longer arm. Im just really confused why i couldn't get what i think i should from the stock setup? Am i not the only one and worrying for nothing? lol btw, thanks for the help guys. |

Im runnin mine like colin, -11,+11 all day long.... Plus @ 90 degrees... your using every bit of uummphh that the servo has for pitch... not so much a big deal for 30 birds, but when you get to the 90's.... you want every little bit of torque

different servos and different radios will have different servo throws. the heli manual cant assume what you have. you sound to be on the right track! just keep a atv setting above 100 or 110%... actually 125% is good, it will give you a good amount of resolution to the servo.
a long arm setting and a small atv setting, like 50% would look FAST, but!!! you loose alot of servo resolution so it will not center as well. |

I think i might just go to 125% and get the full +10-10 range, and see how it flies.... I think any more will bog my motor down to much.
Won't be to long and im going to need a .50! Thanks for the help guys. |
