Just thought I'd share the power system that I’ve been using with you guys. I'm flying the SGP Reactor, which is a little different from most regulators. The Reactor supplies 5.6 volts to your 3 swashplate servos, and 5.2 to your rx and all other servos. The cool thing about the Reactor is how it delivers power to the 3 swashplate servos. Your servos plug directly into the regulator and get their power via the bus in the Reactor. Most regulators simply plug in between the battery and receiver, so even though the voltage is higher all of your servos draw their power from the rx, which draws from a battery using your average servo wire. The Reactor delivers a constant voltage with ease due to it’s heavy-duty wiring and separate power bus. You can also quick charge much faster than you can with a standard switch harness. In the event of a switch failure the Reactor stays on which is nice! Unfortunately due to this feature you cannot leave the battery plugged in for long periods of time because it will eventually kill the pack. It’s fine for a week or so, but I would not leave it any longer than that. If I remember correctly it draws about 7 milliamps per hour. The heavy-duty deans ultra connectors don’t mind being separated and plugged in numerous times though.
Any voltage regulator is an improvement over a 4.8 volt battery! I personally think that the Reactor's delivery system is superior to getting power from the rx with standard Futaba/JR/Hitec battery leads. More info on Scott Gray’s web site: www.scottgrayrc.com Colin |

That's interesting, looks like a good system.

Just for comparison you can also look at the Arizona Regulator made by Fromeco

Duralite system here. 4000mah redundant battery with charge safe circuit protection, 6.0v reg, with a step down unit for the tail servo. Flying this system for over a year and a half now.

Judge,
Although the regulator is rated at 15 amps, I'm doubtful of the rx being able to handle 15. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Fromeco regulator requires the servos to get their power from the rx. The Reactor provides your servos with power directly from the unit, which is rated at 12 amps. Mind you we're never pulling this in a heli... but the system can handle it if need be. The reactor is expensive, but worth it in my opinion! Colin |

Sorry if I was misunderstood. I was merely pointing out alternatives to the Reactor.

![]() I just say it as I see it. Sometimes I'm wrong, and when I am it gives everyone great sport in pointing it out, so you see, I'm a giver
