Default To Tail Lock or to Not ?

Hi Guys,

I'm about to start serious Autos, above head height.
Will I keep Throttle Cut in Heading Hold with the Futaba 502?, and if so what level of Gain should I use?
Does anyone find benefit if having a Flight Mode with Non-Heading Hold and if so what type of Aerobatics is it suited to? I just don't want to be bothered with Revo Mix if I can help it.
It is suggested to Hover in Non-Heading Hold, again, why would I bother?

Thrash them Rotors

Woz

Heep the HH on during autos, especially learning them so that the heli flies the same as what you are used to.

I do turn the gyro to non HH when I want the absolute fastest possible piro rate during certain maneuvers.
I do not have revo set up but I do have a mix set up like what was used in the "old" days with the piezo gyros.
The mix is set up with rudder as master and gain as slave so that the more rudder that I give the lower the gain gets and the gyro is basically off at full stick. this guarantees that I will have full deflection at full rudder input. If you try this be certain that your electronics are very well secured or you will launch the RX and or battery out the front of the heli.

I would recommend that you do some flying with the HH off, it will teach you better control of the rudder and also help you if the gyro should ever fail in flight.

Great idea... I never think to throw it out of HH. Will do next time though
