That is a great place to start.
I have been abusing my stinger 50's for 2 years now and the only thing that seems to bother them is flying below ground level. The only upgrade that I would recommend is the ON Edge dampers. Yes you want a bigger battery 1000mAh is not enough. I have not seen a Evo Lid in person for comparison. |

the other upgrade Ill buy in the future is the Aluminum Head Upgrade Kit. but that’s only after I get flying and switch to the carbon blades (I’m going to buy woodys to start with)
all that depends if they get all this stuff back in stock. I think 75% of all of the stuff I would be buying from them is out of stock at the moment and that includes the heli it self. The caopy is a bit different but similer, The ghobbe one is Kind of cool looking from the front. |

The differences are stiffness, Carbon is stiffest FG is in the middle and wood is the most flexible.
The cost is also proportional where carbon costs the most and wood is cheapest. Which do you need? wood is great for first learning flights and is cheap to replace in the event of a crash. Once you get past forward flight FG blades are good for the basic aerobatics like loops rolls stall turns flips or any other smooth type maneuvers. You really don't need carbon till you are getting to the more violent maneuvers with sudden pitch changes or very high G turns where you are really starting to stress things. You will also notice even at a beginner level that FG or carbon fly smoother than wood. While learning you will not notice any difference in the metal grips other than bling. The metal starts to make a difference when you start to really pile on the G loads, the metal will flex less and has less slop in the bearings. |

I think I should make a vid of me flying on the sim to let you guys tell me if I should skip the fg blades or not.

From what I could see in the vid, FG blades or even woodies would handle that type of flying.
However you look like you are close to taking that next step of going into collective pumping type maneuvers that would require carbons. I think that you would end up happier in the long run with the carbons. The carbons are not a lot more $ than the FG. |

Fud,
also look at going with a metal head block ASAP... You'll flex plastic and cause harmonic stalling or ressonance when close to the ground in idle up @ high idle up head speeds... do a search on google about ground ressonance on helicopters, and you'll see some interesting things.... |

thats a good point but as of now I dont even have the mony for the heli. Ill probly buy the head upgrade shortly after along with another set of CF blades for back up.
my plan is to go with the plastic canopy so i could afford the on edge dampers as flyingfool said I should and then after I get going buy a fiber glass canopy and paint it. this will be done little by little, lol but that still depends on if they get the 30's and 50's back in stock.

The Gohbee Stinger 30/50 comes stock with an aluminum stem for the head so the ground resonance issue is not as bad as some other helies that have an all plastic head. Its not completely gone but is at least manageable.
There is some really neat new stuff that will be in that shipment that I am Chopin at the bit to get my hands on. I haven't been authorized to spill the beans on what the new goodies are just yet. |
