That T-28 was really nice ..... How about that Jet on down the isle from there.... I've not got into jets yet...but something like that could change my mind.
You're right PEPATRICK...there is alot of stuff thats beyond marginal...You'd have to pay me to take it home .. But you really had to be alert to catch the "good stuff" coming thru the door BEFORE it gets to a table.. Too bad its a 7 1/2 hr drive.. Last edited by BillJ; 03-09-2009 at 07:38 PM. |

The Skymaster jet was nice for sure! It was brand new with a jetcentral turbine for around $5500...
I usually get tables so that I can get in early and look around a little. Made it there by noon on friday but the gates were already wide open and everyone was already grabbing stuff. I didn't see many giant scale warbirds. Someone told me that a dealer showed up early and bought most of them up... I think that alot of the giant scale stuff was priced about the same that you could pick it up on the internet. There were a couple of H9 260's with DA 100's ? and servos. One was $2500 and the other $3000 + a QQ Yak for $2000. Also a SD 50cc yak with DL 50, can and servos for $1500. Most of the 50cc stuff seemed kind of pricey but.. The huge cub, extra, sukhoi and ultimate were cool as heck!!!!! I usually pick up some giant scale stuff but didn't get anything this year. I guess I missed it at the door.. Probably the best deal that I saw was a ram 500 turbine with the electronics. It had a rough bearing but the guy got it for $300... Another deal was a Brison 3.2 with wrap around pitts muffler. Looked like new for $200 There was a giant 12ft telemaster with a G62 that would have been fun. It wasn't flashy looking. He wanted $850 for everything. G62's were $300+. Only saw a few for sale There was a 3w 150 and 157 (no mufflers) for $850/each? H9 Ultimate with DA 150 (no servos etc) 7 out of 10, for $2600 Byron kits, unbuilt, were over $1000 (corsair and bearcat?) I figured with the economy that there would be a ton of stuff and it would be a buyers market. Compared to other years that I've gone, It didn't seem like there was as much there and it definitely seemed to be a sellers market. I saw planes going out the door left and right but not much/very little coming in. Usually after the doors open to the public, it's elbow to elbow trying to get threw the isles. This year there was a little congestion but not to bad. Last edited by jonkoppisch; 03-10-2009 at 07:45 AM. |

Well we all know you can;t please everybody!! Yes I saw the full scale fly over " a beaut" and aslo watched as they flew some giant scale planes and heli demo's off in the parking lot SAT. morning!! I had a great time, meet a lot of new people, made at lot new friends. It was a good time for different peolpe in the same sport to come together. That T-28 was massive, but 3 grand, probably worth every penny. I believe the biggest of all the giants there was the 58% extra, with the two piece fuse, man
she would DIVORCE me!! That 50% cub was our's thanks everybody for the kind words. We must start planning after show parties for next year!!!![]() Kris |
