Regional Director Structure in the SE

Noticed that there is an ARD for each state in the region. What is the purpose of this? Are there meetings for all the state ARD's?

I'd just like to understand the structure and its purpose...in the NE we had one RD (the "NERD") and the ARD (the "AssNERD" - which was me ). Do I need to contact my state ARD if I have a question/etc, and do I need his permission before getting a contest together?

Hi Pete, this is designed to have responsible ARDS in different zones of our region, as it's huge, purpose being that no RD can attend every contest, you'd have to be retired,wealthy, and have no other agenda in life. Thus the need for read(envolved) ards, i'm in the process of adding, and deleting ard's that haven't had as much time as they need to be involved. I'm looking for some folks that are proactive, and will work for the betterment of the entire imac pursuit. Virginia is on my list as it's way up the road form florida, however we need contests, and good folks to get, and keep the ball rolling.
The ARD will also be attending contests that i can't make, looking at the schedule with almost 20 contests now, i'd have to travel many thousands of miles to do it, and can not, so these ards will be my eyes, and ears. Miles, our SE Webmaster and i are in the process of finishing a quick housekeeping reminder for the region, especially CD's.. all scores must be turned in ASAP, also all 2 dollar per pilots,at each contest(conducted by the new guidelines) must also be mailed to phil vance asap, and submitted within a week, inorder for the contests to count. This is going to be a great season, with alot of flying, fun, and good sportsmanship!
Also, to request a contest approval ,go to the imac site, after you're log'd in, and submit a request for a contest on that page, it then is forwarded to the RD, and approved, or disapproved.
