Just looking for a good aerobatic plane (arf), because I don't fly 3d or compete in IMAC, I just like fly'in around and having fun. Can I still fly the Aeroworks Yaks, or SD, QQ and just not use as much throw in the control surfaces? Which plane would be good for this as I am making my purchase in a couple of weeks or so? Thanks and your advice would be appreciated.

How long have you been flying, are your flying skills fine on small aerobatic plane? If you, i think you'd be fine on a yak, put some dual rates/expo on it and go. You might consider having someone help you the first time around.

Absolutley,most of these planes fly so light they feel like a trainer on low rates.

Absolutely! No need in setting up high rates unless you need them. The plane will fly even better if set up without 3d throws if you use all of the available servo travel and use short servo arms. You know which one I recommend!

You got it, a great flying plane is a great flying plane no matter what style of flying.

I've been flying a 27% GP Cap 232 with a Brison 3.2 on it this past summer, with no problems.

Stay with 84-87 inch and 50cc gas. A Wildhare Extra would be great for a first aerobat. Plenty sturdy and flies great.

I would disagree with you here. The biggest waste of money I made was with a 50cc bird. I just play with 3D....I don't compete in IMAC, I just do what I find fun for that day. I say this for a few reasons...first of those being that bigger flies better. I hated to fly my 25% planes up to the day I sold it. I was just never able to get comfortable with it. When I hit the 33% stuff.....everything is smoother and just plain flies better. The second reason I say this is because if you pick you components carefully, or are willing to buy used, A 33% bird can be put together for not much more than a 25% plane. For instance, I purchased a H9 33% Sukhoi a few years back RTF, minus receiver and a 8611 for $1600. It was a pretty good deal at the time. It had a FPE 5.8 in it and it was a perfect match. I had a ball with it and flew the snot out of it.

Now I"m not trying to bas the 25% planes.....there are many on the market that fly great....all I'm saying is...go bigger if you can.....you won't regret it.

Oh...and as the others have stated....any of these planes make great Sunday fliers....you don't have to be hardcore 3D or IMAC to fly one. The the one you like the looks of the best and have fun. That's what it's all about anyway!!!!

No way! I recommend to anybody that they skip the 50cc planes altogether. 33% is not much more $$ and fly much better.
