Good Luck! And when you do get a 25% or 50cc size gasser, then you will NOT regret having gone bigger and spending the extra money. There are some NICE planes out there! Good luck with the job! And have fun checking out new planes!

Were kinda getting off topic here
But ide like to start out with the .40-.90 size glow 3D planes, and work my way up. My biggest plane will probably be a 50cc size.

I saved for a LONG time for my 50cc Extra 300, and just love it! It was more than worth it all! Pvt, you'll never regret going bigger! It's like a magnetic field, and once you've flown a 50cc, you'll be sucked in faster and faster. ;-)

Until now, I have worked hard for all my planes, but now my father is buying me a 35% Extra 300! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! My parents have always been suportive, and have practicly given me a room to build in, and just recently took me to my first contest! (And to the field to practice a lot!) Video: http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/...ser=18976&sl=d
I greatly appreciate all their help, and withought them, it wouldn't be possible.
Please remember guys that just because not all your parents buy your planes, that doesn't mean that they don't support you. I am very grateful to my parents for not buying my planes until now. Working, and saving for something that you really want teaches us a lot of responsability, as well as the fact that that is the way that life is.
Anyway, yes, my parents support me, and I think that all our parents deserve more gratitude than we give them.

Also, our family is going to Israel in November, and my parents are taking time out of the vacation to let me practice and compete there! I'll be flying freestyle and IMAC with my new 35% that they're buying for me, and just can't wait!

Here's the plane that I'm getting:

Thanks! The Lord helped me a lot, and I had a blast!

What foamies are you building? Foamies are so awesome, and I learned 3D on them. Burn lots of batteries through them, practice hard, and you'll be huckin' before ya' know it!

My Parents helped me out with my first giant, a QQ 102" Yak 54 Gen III, by going me halves. It is towards the end of its first season, and I love everything about it. Only one more comp for this year. Bring it on. I have just ordered another plane though, which will most probably become my main plane and my QQ will then become my back-up, whenever I get the rest of the money to finish it. I wouldn't be in this sport unless it was for my Brother Troy and my Dad. The engine in my QQ, my brother Troy won in Tucson last year, and kindly donated it to me.

Hi out there!

I'm 18 now, started flying when I was 13 or 14 (don't really remember). I have always bought my own models, equipment and so on. I have worked in a supermarket as a spare time job, to earn money for my next new model. Sometimes I have saved up my x-mas presents and birthday presents to get something a little more expensive I started out with almost no equipment, and spent months on the web to find the cheapest way to get started I bought a Easy-Start from Multiplex, and Futaba 4 channel analog transmitter. Damn it was fun! I could NOT fly, but I had a great time! Then I started flying in a local club with a nice airfield, and became much better as a pilot. Here in little Denmark we haven't got too many RC-pilots, and therefore only few clubs with airfields, so I was grateful to have found one only about 20 minutes drive from where I live. My mom and dad have ALWAYS driven me to the airfield or any event, dumped me off and picked me up again late in the afternoon or evening. So in that way they have been supportive, but not financially.

Then I got better and better, and I earned money for some electric 3d planes like the Super Zoom foamie and later on the PA-models like the Katana Mini and so on. It was only at the age of 16 that I saw the possibilities in a simulator, so I had a hard time earning money for one of those when I could (almost) get a new electric plane for the same money Then I started to a get holiday job (still working at the local supermarket) at a european RC-model distributor. So I could earn equipment instead of money, nice! Suddenly I had more lipos and better chargers for my airplanes which meant better opportunities to fly a lot more! Then I decided to get to fly something a little bigger than my 1.4 m 3d plane. I saved money for almost a half year and bought the equipment piece by piece. First the airframe, then the servos receiver and at last the motor. The model was a H9 FuntanaX 100 equipped with an Evolution GT26 gasser and Hitec digital servos! Whoow! What a difference. After that I began to train my skills with hover, rolling harriers etc. I had great fun !

After a year or so, I decided to search for something even bigger as I was convinced that bigger is better So I sold the Funtana along with some other smaller electric planes. I only kept a foamie for practicing while saving up money for a new giant It ended up with a H9 Extra 260 35%! I was thrilled like a little baby on x-max eve the day the HUGE package came at my doorstep! It took my almost 4 months to save up for the airframe, and another 1 year to get all the rest of the parts. I bought a DL-100 because it was cheaper then the DA. As exhausts I chose MTW cans. with headers. I would not save on servos and radio so I bought 8 Hitec 5955, an Emcotec powerbox and Spektrum system.
This was the best thing I have ever done to myself! Hell yeah it took soooo many hard working hours at that boring supermarket but the day I maiden it I could not have been more happy and proud of myself. I now it isn't hard to assemble one of the giants, but I earned every single crown (danish valuta) on my own! This winter I am doing a little makeover on the model, and planning on installing a smoke system
That was a little about me, and I hope that it will give some of you other young people who don't have their parents to pay their RC-equipment for them some encouragement to keep on not just dreaming but to realize their dream and go for it!!
