I have to agree with YNOT..... you did say 3D first and foremost. Therefor my vote would be the CARDEN CAP. You won't find any other plane that will tumble like a CAP.....

RCNUT......
I think we know someone in common. Steve Methe is my father in-law. I do not know you real well, but he talks about you and your flying style. Apparently you and I have similar styles.... Maybe we can catch up to one another the next time I come up there....

That could not be any farther from the truth. The Cap does not need any more mixing than any other airframe. It's just a wise tale.

The Cap's I owned tucked to the belly in knife edge. I had to mix about 13% up elevator to correct. I don't run any mixes in my Edge or Extra for knife edge.

Well that was on low rates and I didn't have much throw on low rates to begin with. Don't get my wrong, Cap's are nice planes. It seems the guys who really like them always fly at least one Cap. I've pretty much decided to go with the Edge. I have a 35% Aeroworks Edge now and it is a great 3D plane. The 40% Carden will be even better.

You are going to love your Carden. By the way, here's a tip. If you have a radio that you can set up a graph mix with, you can have the amount of elevator increase as the rudder travels farther to make sure the plane tracks straight. On my 40% Carden Cap 232 I have 3% elevator mixed with both directions of rudder. At full highrate rudder I have 10 degrees of up elevator mixed with both directions of rudder.

I vote for the 40% Carden Cap as well but it sounds like you have your mind made up. I have one primarily for 3D and love it to death. As for KE mixing, I needed around 5% and it will now KE from horizon to horizon on a string. For what its worth, a buddy of mine has a 40% Carden Edge and it needed KE mixing as well. The Edge rocks for 3D but it’s a little sedate for my liking. It’s just a little too ‘friendly’, whereas the Cap can be absolutely wild. Either one will be bad ass!
