I get to fly with kyle alot at some of the local feilds and with IMAC, because kyle has flown so many big planes he knows what flys really good. He has told me that he doesn't like his Dalton 260, but I think he said that at first because he had a carden extra 330 for 3 years before the 260. He still told me that the Carden is a better plane, but I believe its a personal taste. He also had a CA 38% for a "goofing around plane" he liked it for 3D and it did some killer flatspins. I dislike the edge's because in pattern their rudder doesn't have alot of power to them and its because of the LE. I don't know if Kyle has ever flown a carden Yak, but those planes fly really well too. Kyle's 260 is the older design with counter balences on the elevators and the rudder is so large that it's almost a full flying rudder. I believe that the older dalton design is best for 3D because not a lot of movement is required to do 3D with it.

A wise man once told me that the best plane for 3D is the one you've got.
"you just need to turn fuel into smoke and noise", he said. (he was one of those wise, old guys. ![]() Some planes are better than others... but the fact is that if you burn gallons and gallons of fuel... you will learn with whatever you have right now. Just my 2 cents. Craig Rideout |

I hate say they all 3D well in capable hands. My vote goes to the 40% Carden Cap but thats also because I own one and love it. Caps are my favorite, I love extras but I went with what I loved.

I have had two carden 40% edges, and I am going back to my roots. The 40% carden Cap. The plane is just a joy to fly, I had hundreds of flights on my last one, and should have never sold the plane. I bought a 37.5% yak from SD, for knocking around, and I am having Jerry Worth build me a Kick A$$ cap. Cant wait

Man, I keep hearing awesome reports about cardens 40% Cap. I was weary at first of getting mine, but the price was right. I traded even up my 30% TOC yak airframe only with a da50. In return, I got the cap, with smoke, carbon tube, Brand new Carbon prop .. and all the needed hardware, minus a few linkages. I am happy... especially since my Fiance' just called and said my DA just showed up!!
Plus, I ordered all my radio goodies and this and that parts from TBM, and that should be here tomorrow! Time to put the goods together and fly! |

Are we witnessing a Cap revival here. Seems like they have been somewhat forgotten about for a while. I am going to build my first giant 3-d bird soon and have always liked the Cap but thought it was out of the race compared to the Edge or some others out there. HHMMM...

I love the cap. For starters it looks like a real plane. Second they tumble like no other. If you take of and transition to KE, then to outside snaps it will tumble to a nose up stall, and then becomes a hover. So much fun. I could see how it would be a challange for IMAC, but you would just have to work really hard getting it set up just perfect.
