Default never had this happen

today when flying, on my what was to last flight my sailplane got stuck on the winch line. it was spiraling down and poof it came off. i got it back in one piece but the tow line sawed my rudder in half. i have never seen this happen before, at least not on a winch. i have seen it happen on a hi-start. man it was a fight to try and keep the plane upright. if the line wouldnt have poped of it would have been totaled. the sailplane god was looking down that time . just got done making a new tail (vertical). sorry no pics it happened too fast

the is odd, iv only know that to happen on fullscalers, every then, manual release, but with a tow hook, seems odd it would do that... glad you got it down!

I had the line from a heavy high-start wrap around the tailboom of a 2 meter once. That was "interesting". I had to duve at the stake, but keep circling within the length of the string. I must have flown about 30 laps before it slowed down enough to land.
