Surfaces are too small for really great 3D, though it can do it, and the wing loading is too high with 150 sized engines, and the wing tip tends to drop on hard pulls if it gets too heavy. Optimum weight is in the 30-32 lbs range, IMO, looking at the wing sizing. I'm using the BME115 on mine, with KS 1060's and it's a rock steady precise aerobatic plane. But, it's less capable on 3D, even with the massive prop blast of a 150 on the nose. Most videos show the plane to be nose heavy with the 150. Mine is very neutral with the 4 lbs lighter 110 on the nose, but the power is not sufficient for great 3D with the lighter engine setup. Basically, if you have enough power, you have too much weight, and vice versa. It would be interesting what a lighter weight ZDZ160 with in-cowl stacks would do on this plane. Just my opinion. After a year flying the plane, I love it for IMAC. . but I'd never 3D it much.

I have a strong DA150 on compact mufflers in mine, and a Sullivan Skywriter and 48 oz of smoke oil, and it in no way flyes heavy. No, it's not like a 129" TOC1/SD 40%Yak with a DA150, but it in no way feels heavy. As Kris said, it's an excellent IMAC plane, especailly with a 150 in the nose. Up lines are same speed as down lines, unlimited snaps on up lines, slows down well on down lines probably due to its rather thick airfoil.

I think all 40% polanes should weigh 25 lbs. . . . .

Not very good a 3D. Fantastic for sequence. I think the best allrounder is the super extra.
