I am setting up a smoke system on my 35% yak right now. I had it setup in a PP 34% extra like 18 months ago and loved the look of it. The problem I had was it made the covering come up at all the seems. I run a sullivan adjustable pump with super dri fluid. I just wanted to know what you guys do to keep the plane looking new? I know it's possible because I have watched a ton of videos like Alex Wolski's and he just flat out smokes the camera out but his plane looks flawless in every video. Is the tail supposed to be covered, or was I running the volume to high? Also what cleaner do you use to clean after each flight get get it off so there is no damage? I just want to keep my baby shiny and new looking. Is that to much to ask with smoke on it?

You really need to use some trim solvent on the bottom joints so the oil doesn't seep in.
As for cleaning.....try cleaning at the field before you take it home.....the longer it sits the greater chance for seeping. Lastly you probably are running too much oil at full throttle.....you hardly need any oil at that setting.

it should help......but depending on how much oil your spewing out.....over time even that oil is going to get under any covering and in the wood. That is just a fact of running smoke. Also never be afraid to keep tuning the smoke pump.....temp changes are going to affect how much oil is needed and how fast it flows (cuz its already thick)
Just do your best to clean the plane......maybe even wipe it down a little after every flight. I have smoke on 35% Edge.....it looks great IMHO so I'm willing to deal with the hassles of smoke
