Please don't say DA in front of STR8HUCKIN. I'd hate to see the whole war get started all over again.

really there was never a war ..... only some that understood what I had asked and others that just cant stand to have anything said about their motors.... My best friend flies a DA 50 on a double vision I helped him build it..... and break in his DA which is a really great running engine after he sent it in .....

Man my 35% yak hovers like it's on rails ..... It also snaps and flies on "RAILS"
I learned to fly on foamies, I can torque roll, harrier roll straight and in both directions but only rolling to the left, I also feel more comfortable in an inverted harrier with this plane... My Yak is extremely forgiving and as close to "foamy" as you can get... I dont know of alot of guys that are hucking big stuff on the deck after 1 year and I can tell you it has nothing to do with me the airplane goes where you tell it to go in all attitudes.... in stead of making lots of corrections you just have to steer it where you want it to go...... heres a shot of a low inverted harrier approach to inverted popup to torque roll.....If tailchaser would finish our vids then you would know which plane you wanted

I think it would be hard to speculate which plane is best....mainly because one of them isn't even here yet......

give it 6 weeks and ask the question again and talk to people who own them about what the pros and cons are for each airplane......

That's a bold statement...the QQ is hard to beat and has a WAY, WAY better power-to-weight ratio with a DA, since it can be built well under 26 pounds verses 29+ pounds for the AM Yak.
Same thing goes with the Aeroworks. It is 26 pounds with a DA and stock mufflers.
I have seen video of the AM Yak and it is a nice flyer, but it's a bit heavy for IMAC, IMO, but a great 3d plane.

???????????????????????????????????????????

Ever since I began perusing these "big airplane" threads, I have read about guys doing all sorts of bizarre (and some not-so-bizarre, that made sense) things to shed weight, the better to be able to "extreme 3D".

Also, just about everybody agrees (and this was my experiece with an EF 68" Yak) that the super-light planes don't do lines worth a crap in wind... i.e., you want some weight on the airframe for the precision of IMAC.

I guess I'm missing something here...
