I don't have any experience with this, butt here are links to a couple of fellow countrymen of mine, who buit the 1/2 Pitts Challenger: http://www.rc-unionen.dk/nytforum/to...?TOPIC_ID=6531
And the 1/2 Christen Eagle: http://www.rc-unionen.dk/nytforum/to...TOPIC_ID=11964
I'm sorry, both threads are in danish, but there are lots of pictures. The guy who built the Christen Eagle did all the wood work in 2 weeks, and he did an excellent job too.

Mr Deisel Esq. thanks for the links, pictures tell a thousand words, and danish should not be a problem, we have a guy out here WIFPWCF (Glen) I can almost work out what he types some times, so danish should be a short lesson

Thanks Steve, see below the reply from James, now I am getting real interested.

Hello Mick,

To be honest I've never had any problems with his kits. Everything fits and you get every last nut, bolt and screw to finish the plane off. I've now built 2 of the Pitts and have now just built a Challenger. if I was going to try to find a problem with the Pitts which you don't get with the Challenger is that the airlerons are to scale so for 3D you would have to extend them which is what I did ( another 3 bays in ). The Challenger comes already done thats the only difference. But performance is brilliant and for a Pitts you would expect them to be a bit of a hand full but I can promise you its not the case with Harald's kits. They are that light they just don't fall out the sky or drop a wing on you. Everytime I flew mine, I'd land it on the tail wheel first. When I first test flew it the inspecter asked me to try and stall it ( As it was just over 20KG we have to go through an inspection scheme and do 6 test flights ) and it would'nt. If you had one you would be amazed at the peformance and the way it handles. I've seen a lot of Pitts half scale in the past at airshows weighing around 60Kg, mine was 21Kg. You would prophang at a 1/4 power if that. The cowl comes in one piece, the struts are carbon fibre as is the spinner. There's not a lot of wood in them but once its together it's built like a bridge. I started building the Challenger 3 months ago and it's finished thats only through working on it a night times. Lets just say I don't have any other kits apart from these. He supplies hinges, ball links, fuel tank, rigging, wheels, tail wheel. For the money there's not a great amount of wood but it's a lot of aeroplane and it's strong. My point of view I'd say have one.

See, I told you they are great kits. They are expensive but they are very complete. I wish Wilco would extract his digit and get the Challenger built.

I never doubted you honesty, I was more interested in weather it flew like a typical Pitts, or actually flew well. I think we better talk.
