Default EXTREME FLIGHT RC 88 inch YAK-54 build thread

Greetings Flying Giants members and visitors. This is Chris from Extreme Flight and I'm about to begin assembly of our new 88 inch Yak-54. I thought some of you might be interested in the assembly details so I'm going to do a build thread while taking pictures and notes for the instruction manual. Please let me know if any steps need further explanation.
I have been flying the yellow and black DA-50/KS 1060 powered version for a few weeks now and am really impressed with the performance of this combination. I am turning a Mejzlick 23x8 at 7000 rpms. There is some "down and dirty" unedited video of this combination posted on our website here: http://www.extremeflightrc.com/html/media.html

For the red/white/black/silver Yak I am using a Brillelli GT366 60cc engine with an ES Composites tuned pipe. I have had some folks ask that I use the stock muffler, but these days I'm all about quiet powerful airplanes. In the past I always rejected the notion of adding the additional weight and hassle of a tuned pipe-that is until we lost our flying field due to urban sprawl and noise issues. Unfortunately this is happening to a lot of us. I decided that rather than resist this change I was going to embrace quiet technology and learn as much as possible about setting up these systems and make it easy for customers to install canisters and pipes in Extreme Flight aircraft. The 88 inch Yak has a pipe tunnel that will accomodate most any canister or pipe set-up for 50-60cc engines.
I am really excited about some of the new quiet technology. I just received the new ES Composites 50 cc carbon fiber tuned pipe. It weighs 4 oz!!! Taking into consideration the weight of the header, coupler and pipe mount, this set-up will only be a few onuces heavier than the stock muffler! I expect to gain 300-400 rpms from this set-up which should allow me to turn a 23x8 at 7400-7500 and a 24x8 at just slightly less. I'm really excited about exploring the potential of this set-up.

Here are a few pics of the yellow and black DA powered version.

Ron, it is the same scheme as our 74" Yak. Have a look here:

Shnikeys Scooob!! - look at the cowl diameter -

I was on the other thread reading away and looking at the pics - the cowl is 12 inches in diameter - I thought I was looking at a 100cc bird for a minute.

For IMAC - it will make for nice downline speed...

Chris - definitely looks like the quality is there!!!

Sweet! Chris, when you run the ES pipe, if you decide on the 24x8 prop you might need to lengthen the header a bit to keep the good transition. If you haven't tried one yet, the Vess 23A is the best prop IMO for the 50cc engines.
