How would you set up a Futaba 14mz for flying 3D? I have a couple of planes to try this on. One is a QQ Yak 54 and the other is Hanger 9 Extra 260.

Are you looking for a 3D setup for an airlpane or a helicopter?

Sgoen,
May be if you let us know what mode you fly we can get someone to upload a few files for you to try. I'm sure there are a ton of guys who have 14MZ's setup for all sorts of planes. Let me know in this thread and we will see what we can dredge up. Anyone out there with a similar plane jump in and feed the fire. Kiwi |

There is nothing terribly special about setting up a radio to fly 3D except the hi/lo rates.
Set it up for high rates (3d rates) and low rates (regular rates). You might prefer to have all of the rates assigned to a single 2 position switch. Many people typically set up the high rates with a little more exponential than they would run in normal flying. How much expo is very subjective, but -35%(for Futaba) is often a good place to start on each control surface. |

The answer depends on what radio you have. If you have a non-computer radio then you can't use this technique. However if you have a modern day radio like the Futaba 8U or 9C series, Airtronics RD6000 or Sylus series, JR PCM10, 8103. 652, Hitec Eclipse 7, or any other radio that lets you set throttle/pitch curves then you can do the 3D setup.
