Thats another thing about the JTEC's, I do not personally recall anybody having anything negative to say about them... You should look into one man... I am telling you...

the jtec is on my very short list, but i'm still looking for some one that can compare how it flys to some of the others. what does it do better and what are it's weak spots. i may be asking to much but without buying one of each this is the only way i can find out. man i wish i could build one of each.

I am supposed to get my hands on the new Dietrich 330 in the next week or so. As soon as it arrives i will update you guys. I will snag some pics and post them. It should only take a day or so to get her in the air as soon as it happens. I get a link to the vid as soon as its ready. If I had to buy today I would " Go CRAZY" Turn key Mx2 for less than 5g's. That just kills me!

Randy,
I have to say that I am definitely more of an IMAC guy than a 3D guy. I will give you my opinions about this plane while trying to avoid comparisons so as to not come across as "bashing" another company. This plane tracks so well. When shopping for a new plane I wanted a midwing plane. I just prefer the way the rolls present better. As far as service, Tom has been great to work with. My plane now weighs 39 pounds with cans. I was orignally lighter with a single receiver and 2400 LiIons. I decided I like the 2 receiver bigger battery better and ate the 1/2 pound or so. I could tell no difference in the way the plane flew. All mixes are in the 3-6% range, about normal for a well designed scale aerobatic plane. It seems to pace very well. What I like about the Wildhare in 3D is that even with the limited elevator throw that I run the plane has a very large "Sweet Spot" for harriers. In the "Sweet Spot" there is NO wing rock. I could not do harriers rolling circles consistently before I got a hold of this plane. Now it is a rare occasion that I have to bail out of it. I have near 100 flights on mine and have had 0 structural issues. The prehinged set up is great. To me the best part is that the control horn hardpoints are predrilled. There is no doubt in my mind that if you actually jumped on it you could get this thing done in 8-10 hours. Mounting the engine is the only thing that I can think of that does not come predrilled. The radio set-up is very flexible with servo locations for up to 3 servos on each aileron and 2 on each elevator. The rudder servos can be mounted midship or in the tail. Please feel free to ask more detailed questions here or PM me. Thanks, Dan

Randy, I haven't flown any of the other planes being discussed. But I do have hundreds of flights on the JTEC/Radiowave 330/300's.
First thing about the Radiowave is it's size. In comparison to the other 40% planes on the market it's really a big airplane. For IMAC style flying it's absolutely rock solid. Mixing is about 3-4%. It draws and holds lines with ease and because of it's size it gives plenty of time to think about things. The plane never makes you feel rushed. The key to this plane is to keep it simple and light. Don't go crazy with all the fancy accessories out there. For 3D flying the plane feels and floats around like a big foamy. It is effortless in any high alpha type of flying. High alpha knife edge is almost as slow as a walk Structurally, you cannot break these planes in the air. I've pushed them as hard as they can be pushed with never a problem. A straight 150 is plenty for the plane, a 150 with tuned pipes is incredible. I'm sure any of the other 150 class motors such as the 157 would be excellent also. My newest one will have a 150 with full pipes. |

Randy, I bought Jim's JTEC last year. While I haven't flown a lot of other 40's I had a friend fly it when I got it and he said that he was impressed with how it flew. I highly respect his opinion on how airplanes fly as he is an excellent pilot (he won his class at Tucson last year).
Like Jim and Al said, it is a big bird. I think mine is about 40-41 lbs (Jim was running cannisters on it and had said that it was about 42). I am running the stock muffs with the DA150. While it is not lacking power at all, I think it would really shine with a 3W157/ZDZ Super160/DA170.

thats a great looking plane, is it the one that jeeum had at joe nall the year before last? do you think the ZDZ has more power than the DA 150 and if so is it enough to make me give up DA's great service. the guys at DA have been very good to me and know me by name...the pain in the a$$ from kentucky.
![]() 41lbs sound like a lot for fast pull out but i have not flown many 40% planes. randy |

Randy, the 150 pulls it fine at that weight. If you wait for the 170 which I understand is not that far off it'd be ballistic with it.

its not a rocket out of hover but my DA does just fine. I've only got about 10-15 gallons thru my DA so I think this year it will really be a good performer. I'm not sure about the power of a Super160 although they are supposed to be good, I've only seen one run on a carden 260 and it was a brand new motor and had plenty of power on probably a 38-39 lb 260. I think that if I were to buy everything new and the 170 was available, I would go with that, but the 150 on muffs does good. I hear that 157's are beasts but have not seen in person that I was aware of. I'm running a Mejzlik 32x10, 2-8611A's on each aileron, single 8611's on each elevator and 3-8611's on the rudder. two 4800 fromeco packs on a R2000 receiver with a 2400 on the ignition. 3 Matchboxes, Ailerons (2) and Rudder (1). 50oz tank. No power expanders, mult receivers, or smoke.

Randy, most of our customers fly DA's and it is very easy to see why. They are the model that our industry set the standard for customer service. There are a few guys that have the zdz 160's in there plane and I would say after seeing them fly they fly with the same athority.
The majority of the planes that you will see are going to be at that 40 to 41 lbs weight range with canisters whether it is us, carden, wildhare, comp arf super extra.
