I am using the 4 cell 2170 Flighpower on mine and power is very good. Plenty of vertical, but I am ordering some TP 2100's 4 Cell for comparison.

With a 2500 4S pack I seem to get the impression you should be safe for about a 7minute flight. If that was a 4S pack and the prop say a 14 X7 what could I expect to get and does any one know what the verticals would be like?

I'm running a 2500 4S pack, the recommended Torque 820kv motor, and 11x7 APC E prop. I have the timer on the radio set for 7.5 minutes, but I have the timer linked to the throttle so that the timer only counts when the throttle is a few clicks above the bottom. If I put more than 2000 mah back into the pack when I charge it, I flew too long IMHO.

I have not experimented with props on this plane, but I did experiment on the 3DHS Aspera with the same power setup. The 11x7 seemed to be the best compromise between vertical and endurance. It climbs straight up no problem with this prop.

For this setup, a 14x7 prop is way too much, but might be about right for a 3S pack.

In video i fly with pattern setup, 4s 2500mah Flight power packs with 12x6 prop, as you see plane is still capable to do basic 3D, but if you setup it with 3S packs and 14x7 as Extreme flight recoment, you would get really pleasure from comfortable 3D, naturally such system will not have such pull out as 4S. If someone have questions please ask, i will be more than happy to answer!

Well my Vanquish is almost ready and with a 2500 4S battery about half inch in front the spar the cg is on the forward position of the recommended range. Hopefully this should be about right for the first flight.
Not sure what to set the control throws at to be safe. I fly mainly F3a aerobatic stuff and rarely, very rarely bother with 3D stuff so any ideas anybody?
I must say the plane has goen together very well indeed. I did have a duff canopy which I got replaced the very next day. Hows that for service.
If it flys half as wewll as it looks I will be delighted. Just going to wait for the most suitable conditions - unless I just have to go and fly. You know how it is. Must have that adreneline rush and that cant wait forever!

Four flights under the belt now.
She flies like a dream. I was a bit concerned on the first flight after 5mins I had used near 2000maH of my 2500mAh pack but subsequent flight indicates perhaps I had taken some measurements with this pack because the latest flight are using no where near as much. I may reset the flight timer to 6min which will still leave plenty in reserve (About 20% off the top of my head).
Using a 12 X 6 prop which seems ideal I have limitless verticals. Not only does it look superb but it also flies just as well.

COMPFLIGHT: I have a 3250mAh 4S pack and it fits the plane easily. The only downside is that I have a relatively heavy motor (160g), heavier ESC (60A) and now a heavier battery, with all of these items located in front of the target balance point, so.... this sucker is nose-heavy just like my Brio. I installed a servo on each elevator and also located the rudder servo in the tail, but she's still NH. So, I'm building a liteply battery plate that allows the pack to straddle the wing-tube. I would have preferred to have the battery on the datum line, but it's close enough I hope. I'll let you know how this goes.

I am using the standard motor as EF recommend and have read someone suggested
FlightPower EVO 25 3300 4S 14.8v 22-50C
Has anyone tried this. Its only a litle extra weight and for pattern I wouldnt think it would notice but having a 3300 may make a nice difference to flight times which loook as though they are coming out a bit shortish with the 2500 pack. -Just like the Brio 10 in that respect.
I found the Brio 10 to be a little nose heavy. Any one know how this builds in that respect. I like very little down ele on inverted flight. - Makes rolls more axial. Well it does for me.

Use an axi 2820 With 12 by 6 prop
