I am so frustrated. This seems so simple. I have tried 3 different PS's and cannot get any to turn on. I got a 400 watt switched supply. Green to black, red and black to the resistor and nothing. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

I think I will just throw in the towel and have to pony up some dough. I have lost all patience with trying to whip one up on the cheap. 3 ATX power supplies - 3 different brands - one with a switch, 2 without and none will work. I give up. Thanks for the help guys.

Converting PC powersupplys is not a new idea. I did mine over 4 years ago. If you study the links I have listed any one should be able to make the converstion. I have been able to get all the used power supplys free for the asking. Check with your local PC repair shop.

I have one of these and it works great on the Fromeco charger. I also use it to charge my Trex and everything else under the sun. I modified mine with an additional fan to keep it cool as I usually have about 3 chargers hooked up to it at a time.

Steve it will work depending on what rate you are charging and how many batteries.

Here is about what I can charge at a time on mine.
TP-10 Charger @ 4.5 amp Fromeco Charger @ 2 amp per pack, 3 packs at a time for 6 amps Hobbico Charger @ 2 amp per pack, 2 packs at a time for 4 amps Total = 14.5 amps I could not do this without the additional fan as it would go into Protection Fault. I picked up mine for about $45. Shop around online and you can find some good deals on them. |
