E-flight battery connectors?????
Please help I spent an hour last night trying to figure out how the blue E-Flight connectors plug together. I am starting to think that I got the wrong metal prongs in the package. Does anyone have pics of how these should look and how they go together? ON my connectors the male and female have the same metal prongs they do not fit together they just butt up. Please Help!!!

I love these connector though. Once you solder up a set of these I believe you won't ever want to use Dean's again.

 EC-3's work great, just a bit different to get used to using and much less traumatic to assemble... You're still stuck with Deans for the bigger electrics, but all my smaller stuff is going to the EC-3 connectors and those are what come on the Spektrum/JR PowerSafe rx's as well. |

EC-3's are a FAR, FAR superior connector. They are self-cleaning and have a greater contact surface area. I would even use them in high amp configurations.
I have seen and had pre-soldered Deans connectors where the installer got the solder tabs too hot and melted the plastic just enough to move the connector tabs out of position, resulting in a poor contact. The result is power failures at very low amps, somethimes as low as 1 amp. It is VERY hard to screw up an EC-3 connector - well, except in your case... The battery side connector should have smaller plastic housing than the input side, and the battery side should have the cylinder/female side of the bullet connectors. The input side has the larger plastic housing and the pin/male connectors. If you assembled them you assembled them wrong and if you didn't then they were assembled wrong. There is no way to reverse them except to cut the wires and try again. If they were factory assembled, I'd take them back.

EC3s are awesome. I am switching everything over to them. They also have different sizes...EC5 and EC2s...But the EC3s seem to be the ones to get. I dont have a problems with Deans...but..I like the EC3s better...better contact..and you can actually grip them to pull apart.

Horizon Hobby quotes them for 60A continuous, any idea what an acceptable peak current could be? I am seriously thinking about changing those crap D... on all my planes.
