Default Low profile Fuel tank for CompArf 260 3.0m

Hey guys

Putting a CompArf 3.0m 260 together, and I am using a Virtual Cockpit (great bit of kit).
The virtual cockpit reduces the space available between the spar tube and the cockpit base for the fuel tank down to slightly less than 3'' (the dubro 50oz is 3.5'' high)
So two things, anyone know of low profile tanks, what did other virtual cockpit 260 owners do as a work around, nb I want to keep the tank on the CG.

Thanks in anticipation

Phil

I dont have any 40%ers but i have a GP cap 580 35% with a ZDZ 80 and i have a 16 ounce tank and i figure on getting 10 minute flights easily. I would ask if it is really necessary to run 50 onces, if not just put a smaller onces tank in there.

Could you just put 2 smaller tanks in there? and run them in series, similar to how the heli guys run a header tank. it is just sucking fuel from one tank to another. I have never done this, but it sounds good to me .

I am not putting a virtual cockpit in mine, but I am putting in a smoke system with a 40oz tank mounted to a platform similar to the stock fuel tank platform that I built and istalled just above the floor, below the wing tube. If you aren't installing a smoke system, this would work for your fuel tank - you'll just have to build-in your own platform or modify the stock one. I went from the landing gear bulkhead to the Form provided to mount the rudder servos.

thanks guys

50oz tank....well I am just going with the generally accepted wisdom for a 150cc engine, guess time will tell as to weather i need to lug alll that gas around the sky!!

Did think about the two tank set up ( use a header all day long on my helis no problems) but I am hopeing to keep the set up simple.

Install under the wing tube, aint no room, cans and rudder tray in the way.

Still a low profile tank or two tanks at the moment..

Look at the Bennett tanks. They are of lower profile than the typical Du-Bro tanks. The tanks are avail. from B&B Specialties. They do have a web address, I don't remember it off the top of my head, but Google them.

There is a guy who makes all the tanks for the jet guys, Fastford and myself just had 3 custom tanks made. He will make it what ever size you need. Very trick!!!
