Bad-ass Super Contributer!
![]() |
Hey guys,
after 8 months of ordering parts, redoing stuff, letting the plane sit around for weeks, messing up the engine mounting, I finally finished my first gas plane! It is a hangar 9 Extra 260 27%! Any tips or comments are greatly appreciated! Here is my setup: Hangar 9 extra 260 27% ZDZ 50 NG ( black head) DS 8411's all around 1 2900 mah duralite flight systems battery for reciever 1 2100 for ignition 2 duralite regulators TBM carbon fiber tail wheel JR 9303 yeah, that covers it! I acctually had in mind of running 2 2900 batterys, but i need to try to keep the weight on this plane down as much as possible, so i will swap batterys at the field if i decide to fly more! If there are any tips on running the reciever antenna through the tube in the plane, please do not hesitate to post them! Here are some pics: Best regards, Nick

You will love it. I have a Saito 220 on mine and she flies great. As far as the antenna goes, I put a piece of fishing line through the tube and tie it to the end of the antenna and just gently pull. That works great for me. What is the weight of yours?

I have one with a Satio 220 on it. I have not flown it yet, but wait till we get warmer weather. Where did you get the flying giants graphic?

Hey buddy...
You may want to add a strap (support) to the other side of the muffler. The side that isn't bolted to the head. If it didn't come with one.. just drill and tap the other side, and get a piece of some kind of metal to mount to your fire wall and the unsupported side of your muffler. With out something supporting it, its not a question of will my muffler crack.. its when will it crack. Besides that it looks good!

It's a pete's model tailwheel! I swapped it for the stock one, because i felt that the stock one was not gonna hold up! I also like how the pete's tailwhell gives me more prop space because it is lower!

Hang in there bro, your rig looks great. It's not that we don't care, it's just that things are so busy here on the Giants. Alot of threads go unnoticed.
Keep us updated as to how she flies for you. Mark |

I flew one with a 1st place 40cc, they fly great. It flew really well and had the perfect power to weight. I shure you will like yours a lot. They do imac stuff really well and do 3D nice. I like the rudder size cause it allows for nice imac style flying and they do slips really nice on the landings and is OK for 3D stuff.
btw, too many stickers! |
