Default Windows Vista

Well today I had to help someone pick out a new computer and we happen to get a HP with Windows Vista. All of the computers in my house which are 3 are hp and never had a problem with them. Was setting up the new one that a friend of mine purchased and found that windows vista was actually pretty good. Considering what I heard. I am suppose to go back tomorrow to put real flight g3 on there. i cant wait to see how that works. If you do get a computer with vista make sure you get it with 2g of ram.

You don't really need 2 gig but you definitely want more then 512 meg. I'd say don't touch it with less then a gig to be safe.

I just bought a new pc w\ vista on it....it was weird to get use to at first for me but g3 installed ok once i had my driver for my graphics card. Just be sure you're an administrator on the computer or else you'll run into trouble when you install

If you have a new Intel Mac you can install Bootcamp, Windows XP and Real Flight.

Look at the Apple website for more info on Bootcamp.

Cheers
Jason.

Ive had vista for a while. There are a few things they still need to work out, but its pretty slick. Definitely flashy. Im running a dual core 1.8ghz w/2gb ram and LOVIN it.

What rock you been hiding under? I'm a career IT geek, and today's hardware and applications require at least a gig if you run XP and if you purchase a computer with Vista go with 2, Vista is a memory pig. Ram is cheap...

Oh and G3 runs just fine on Vista, nothing like playing at 1920x1200 with everything turned on, 24" monitor., almost like being there..

Lets see............ran vista for about 2 months on my work machine. It was using over 512 megs of ram on boot....everytime I closed the lid the machine would lock up....not to mention boot times were horrible. So.............I naturally trashed it and reverted back to XP. Oh...and did I mention that 1/2 of my apps I MUST have to correctly admin a network don't run in Vista? And that is including compatibility mode.

If you have good luck with it.....your one of the few. But we won't be rolling it out for another year.

Our roll-out of Vista (400+ users) won't take place till Q4 of 09, if even then, we have no reason to run it on a corporate network, but for home use and traveling it works great. Several of our attorneys are running it on there personal laptops, and it's working fine for VPN use.
