Hi, I am new to the group but have considerable flying experience in the real ones. I flew RC back in the days when all we had was ignition systems on our engines and everything was so complicated until glow plugs came out. Receivers had tubes in them and etc. Now you know I am an old man that loves flying and since I can't fly the real ones anymore I am interested in getting back into RC. I need all the help I can get!!!!!!!!!! I am a member of QB's and if you are a pilot you know what that is. Looking forward to talking with others that like bi-planes and jets. I guess the real truth is I look forward to talking to anyone about airplanes. I retired from Boeing in 1993 and worked on many projects from Saturn V to research on advanced futuristic projects. I worked for Cessna Aircraft for 10 years in experimental flight test and international marketing of the Agriculture Aircraft. That is part of my background and would like to talk to other guys about flying RC.
Thanks Bob H.

Hey Bob,
It's great to have you here!! It sounds like you will be the "go to" guy when it comes to the full scale stuff. That is a seriously impressive background, my friend. If you need anything at all, browse around, somebody may have already asked the question, if not, don't be shy, ask away. Welcome to the Giants!!! |

Thanks to Ken for the compliment.
Kiwi, you said you were born and breed in the land of Ag Planes. Where were you born? I have traveled South America and helped put together the assembly plant in Bogata for the Cessna Agwagoan and other Aircraft. Yes, I am looking for plans to build a Agwagon does anyone know where I may find a set of plans? I am an engineer and probably could draw my own but if someone has already invented the wheel why not use there's. |

Bob.
A guy by the name of Warren Russel I think it is from New Zealand who lives in Bluff has a plan service for a great number of rare type models.. I have a set of his plans for a Fletcher, 130 inch and I know he has Agwagon plans for up to the same size. I live in Chile at present but hail from New Zealand originally. I still have fond memories of Tiger Moths and Piper Cubs topdressing. Austers and Pawnees, Agwagons and yes even the odd airtruck. Great days but there are a good few guys missing from the lineup these days who did not make it. Kiwi |

To the member that is building the 502 AirTractor, I new Leland Snow down in Texas when he designed the Snow Crop Duster then and then Fred Ackers (the last name spelling may me wrong) from Mississippi bought it and put a trubo on it and called it the AirTractor. I have flown the aircraft but would still rather fly an Agwagon. The stick forces on the Agwagon are light enough that you can still feel like going out and dancing after flying all day.

To Smoke on,
Where do you fly the pawnee "D" ? I had a pawnee i50 hp. in my crop dusting business at one time. I bought it from Lloyd Nolan in Mercedes (I am a terrible speller) Texas. He was the father of the original Confederate Air Force of which I am an inactive member. I became a member back in 1959. Crop Duster |
