Default Motor Box help needed.

30% or so Extra with a new front firewall. I glassed it fairly well, and it eventually came loose today during first time engine run! I guess I am not used to these manly man motors(first gasser). Da 50R for those wonderin'. I bought some thin and light 3/4" L stock tonight at Home Depot. I got lucky, all the other angle was thick 1/8" stuff. I did not think I needed that. Anyways, I am going to bolt it together. When one uses angle aluminum down the sides, do you also glass it or just bolts alone? Thanks folks.

I angled my 40% with L stock from home depot. Didnt glass at all and it's been beat to crap and it's still holding fine. I think you should be ok

Here's a good shot of one installation. This is off my AM 33% Yak. I just got to work on it tonight. Most planes I've seen have the angled aluminum on the outside of the engine box, but this will work just as well. It of course still gets screwed together....but it should be nearly bulletproof.

Ok, gonna go try her out. The original plane did not have pinning or any sort of angle braces. I am quite surprised it held up the 6-10 flights before I got it. Thanks for those who helped. I'll give feedback.

Download the vid on it. It's the best way to balance your props.

They were balanced by the guy I bought them from supposedly. I balanced them here, and they were very very close. Its a smooth motor, and everythings ok, I just did not build the firewall strong enough. I added 1.1 oz of aluminum, bolts, nuts, all that. I feel ok about it now. Thanks. Good video too.
